Pure logic, and confirmed by events.

So, speculation. Not confirmed by events.

Well I would say the portion regarding the
release of HNRP1 was confirmed by events.
WB passed on releasing it & Prince found someone else.

And who says HNR1 was to come out via WB? We don't know what kind of contract/agree,ent Prince has with them. So thinking that those albums are owned by WB is just speculation.

Because he stated that in his tweets that he deleted that WB passed on PHASE 1.

Is it really that difficult for an artist like P and other with an established "not too young" fanbase to autoproduce a limited edition CD release of an album (5.000 or 10.000 unit) and to sell it worldwide directly on line or maybe via Amazon (to say)?!?!?!?

As far as I know, the cost to make them is 1/20 than the profit.

Meh.

nod It's really simple,isn't it? Record a CD,press it up,and sell it on his own website,or Amazon.No need for a record company's involvement at all.That's the true definition of an "independent artist".

So, Mister Nelson just blocked me on Twitter. I told him it was pathetic that one of the greatest was selling his new albums by the hundreds and that it was about time to resuscitate his career. I would have blocked me as well, but I am right. It is pathetic.

I wasn't trying, but I expected that outcome. Still, I do believe he has managed to completely wreck his career in the last few years (more than ever before) and that it's a tragedy that only a handful of people have heard stunning songs such as Revelation or Black Muse. Prince should be talked about in the same terms as Michael Jackson and instead a lot of people think of him as a one hit wonder. And this is a tragedy, and it is entirely his fault.

Prince is a SLAVE.

To the dollar.

If he's a slave to the dollar, explain:

- why he isn't touring;

- why he's not licensing his material for use in ads;

- why he's not doing the talk shows to promote HitNRun;

- why he's not trying to make money off the Paisley Park facilities, by renting them;

- why he's not just taking the money and giving them what they want instead of feuding with his label;

- why he's not merchandizing everything to the max (and why I don't have a closet full of various expensive t-shirts and symbol-adorned tamborines);

- why he mostly promoted Judith Hill and Josh this fall instead of putting the spotlight on himself when he had two records in a row;

- why, besides a few tweets, he didn't lift a finger to promote 1000 Os/xs or have a remix done;

- why he's not capitalizing on his celebrity status more by endorsing brands here and there;

- why, instead of doing any of the above, he's spending his time in the studio recording tracks that have little commercial potential with Neon.

Because he likes being contrary, because he thinks he deserves to be given money instead of putting up his own money, because he only wants to talk within PP walls so he has deniability, because he's misguided, because he actually thinks he's still making worthwile music, because he has no hobbies/other interests etc etc

He could have saved some of his career by releasing PR remaster in 2014, I think that would have been an excellent move. But of course it didn't happen

You said he was slave to the dollar.

A person enslaved to the mighty buck would do anything for it and now you're saying Prince isn't doing that because he's contrary.

So he won't do anything for a dollar but he's a slave to it.

Yep, being contrary: saying one thing (pay me upfront people cuz I is funky), and doing the other (i.e. nothing to promote your own product).

If he really believes in his music, he can just sell the cd's himself (but not in just in PP);

yes, musicians should be paid but when you're a multimillionaire and you love music,

especially your own, then you can foot the bill at last for a few years. See what happens.
Touring would still make him money, or maybe putting a song in a film.
Fact is, if he retired now he wouldn't need any more money until the day he died.

I don't think anything good is going to happen in Prince's career ever again.

AKA "Prince is over forever".

Some people have been saying that since the days of the NPGMC.

But I don't think Prince is over! I love AOA, I like Wow as much as I like Shhh, I like Funknroll as much as Housequake (well, maybe not, but almost), I think Phase 2 is awesome and I have seen him a few times live in the last two years and he blew me away.
I just think that it's a shame that he keeps going out of his way to wreck his chances to be successful again.
