dodger said: Actually betamax had better quality picture. The tapes couldn't fit over an hour of tape though. So when home releases of movies were made...betamax movies would take more than one tape to fit a movie...so VHS's length over quality won over betamax's quality over length. Hmmmm....

Maybe that was the case in the USA, but in Europe an entire movie would fit easily on one Beta tape. I think I still have a few somewhere. wink

You could put a whole movie on a beta tape in the US, too.

Yup...I guess y'all are right. The long play betamax tapes could fit 1 hour in regular mode or 2 hours in LP mode. This is vs. VHS going 2 hours to 4 hours in mode settings. I remember seeing what I said on some 'remember the 80's' documentary. I suppose it was mischaracterized.

Thank you to the people who questioned my information and prompted me to check reliable sources that could tell me the truth. Hint hint.

Tho i do see that to fit two hours, beta has to use its lower quality lp setting and VHS can still use its higher quality sp setting.

Two things:
1. I want to buy a DVD with the rest of the concert.
2. More than anything else (new music, remasters, anything) I want the first two The Time albums with Prince on vocals. That would be so C.O.O.L!
Cool video, would love to see the rest.

Great to see a Prince concert that's shot professionally.

I rather preferred the setlists from Hit n Run Part 1 earlier in the year (and we know some of those were properly filmed as well) - more obscure tracks, and more reflective of the 3rdEyeGirl 'sound'.

I agree, the part one was far more interesting in term of songs. But, Le Zenith was a great concert tho...

I just call it like I see it. I look at this current Prince, as I look at Donald Trump. A once respected person who's grown more bitter with age.

--- No one every respected Donald Trump😳 People still respect Prince and I am sure all the bichers will be tuning in tonight at 8:00pm you may know continue with your bitching

what's going on tonight at 8pm? Donald Trump is on Bill O'Reilly again?

Enjoyed the playfulnes so far. And a set celebrating some of those classics people have been wanting to hear live!

Great quality and probably enjoyable for any casual fans but boring for any long time fans on here. And I have to agree with couple of others about Liv - I just can't take to her

Amazing quality and great set. I have seen those songs performed many times but that does not take away from the faxt that it is a great set. Liv was fine, but i actually thought that her voice was not that great on Don't Stop, which surprised me. My only other minor criticism is the backup singing was a bit weak, especially on Rasberry Beret but that is to be expected when the band is singing backup.

I just watched it again and the exact opposite reason is why I don't like it. Terrible set list. You get set up for what sounds like will be an awesome rock set with a dirty and grungy version of lets go crazy. Wild and totally rocked out without is original hyperactivity. Great. Then, like out of a BAAAD van halen dream, synths...BAAAD synths...stab your ears like skewers and the vibe turns on a dime to synth pop and some chick vocals invade your space. Then while your soul is hoping the bad dream ends, your consciousness knows it won't cuz it knows what's coming. Raspberry beret. Things only get worse and further away from the road that crazy brought you to. Then, what sounds like decent rockers, go even further down the crazy train to what they apparently thought was funkytown. But absolutely nothing funky was going on in that town. Bad vox... an absence of funk...terrible.

It wwas so disappointing cuz this band can rock it...I've heard them. But all they did was stuff they couldn't pull off after they had showed you what they COULD do.

Like a girl who can give u a great cowgirl but insist on trying to finish u off in every position she can't get good friction in.

Maybe if the set was in reverse and slowly bridged its way to a closing crazy, it would worked for me.

Betamax was actually better quality than VHS, but that point was moot when VHS won the format war. wink
