After a certain monetary point, does it really matter? Prince is sitting pretty being worth 500mill, as well as being rich in talent, and rich in spirit. I am positive he is not losing sleep over Jay Z having hords of cash.

Musically.......it will ALWAYS matter.

Jay Z needs P's fans help to keep Tidal going. Prince's HitNRun is to get Jay Zs fans into Prince & they'll soon discover his other albums, I'm not mad @ P for this remix album now that I have so many other albums of his to stream so good luck to the both of them

I doubt any Prince fans who stay with Tidal past the free month will make a difference in Tidal's future.

I'd be interested to see how many Prince fans actually subscribe to Tidal . .. but it's not like they ask "are you joining Tidal because of Prince" upon signup.

Prince perhaps has the power to change that by making it compelling to stay by making ti compelling to the die hard fans. His back catalog needs to be complete and there needs to be actual exclusive content. I think the Indifference video is the only thing on there that's actually exclusive, and I don't think there is a TV client for Tidal. Stare was previoulsy available, HitNRun isn't exclusive anymore, there is a bunch of content that most people in the target audience (expanding the Tidal subscriber base by attracting Prince fans) already got through the NPGMC.

Tidal could work well for Prince in terms of bringing in new fans to his music, but it's not off to the best start at makeing a compelling case for bringing long time Prince fans to Tidal.
