Very relieved to see that breakfast can wait isn't there after that recent interview implied it may be. Surprised to see fallinlove there. Wonder if it's a new mix? Kinda wishing I hadn't put it into my AOA play list in place of BCW now  . But at least I do still enjoy it and it will be great to have it in CD quality.RIP  | |

What does Revelation have to do with Joshua production? That track was Prince alone, maybe with a basic track from NPGQ. It will for sure be on the same album as Stare. |

That page on Amazon.fr is still available when you click on the link, but now if you search "prince hitnrun" on the main page, you don't get any result (before you could...). IS someone pissed off that the tracklist leaked?
Amazon.co.uk has Hitnrun but does not feature a tracklist... |

The fact that he's included Fallinlove2nite is evidence enough that this album is going to be a mixed bag. A new midlife crisis record is always entertaining for a few llistens, but really, it's quite disheartening to see where Prince is heading as he approaches 60. I had hoped he would continue down the path of albums like ONA, The Truth, Lotusflower, TRC... but instead he seems to be heading down the Madonna route, desperately clinging on to his youth, trying and failing to fit in with todays contemporary popstars instead of making music for himself. It's all looking a bit tragic to me.
Isn't it funny how both Madonna and Prince recorded more mature and introspective music fifteen years ago than they are today? I wonder if they have the insight to see how they've regressed.

I liked that he maintained a mature look with the suits and the hair as a "look" befitting a man in his 50's; now he looks like a clown in those silly clothes and messy afro. Maceo Parker, Renato Neto, Candy Dulfer, John Blackwell--now there was a formidable lineup of accomplished musicians. I guess they were too "old" 3rdeyegirl--it's like he's trying to create something from nothing and the results are less than the sum of its parts. Prince is like Tom Jones & James Brown--straddling the fine line of brilliant and embarrassing himself. Putting his reputation in the hands of someone like Joshua Welton looks to be a foolish,foolish direction. That track list from what we've heard thus far--just add techno beats and samples from "For You"--- Will this be his most embarrassing album? | |
