Chaos & Disorder with Planet Earth a
close second. Nothing on C&D that I
would miss if I lost the cd.

I hate the preaching on TRC. But I love the album because it's the most balls-out artistic and creative Prince has been on an album since TGE. And it was such a departure from the stale, plastic R&B/funk he had been doing at that point. Plus, it was his first album as "Prince" again. Altogether, it's too important in his catalog to be a hated album for me. Planet Earth and MPLSound, on the other hand, are like partial birth abortions set to music. Shitty music.

I agree. I don't hate TRC, I don't love it... But like I said I really appreciate the artistic and musicianship of that album, hate the preaching and religious stuff, but there are some nice songs on TRC. TRC is without a doubt better than Planet Earth.

I love it. It is the true Prince jazz album that those of us Prince fanatics who actually understand and appreciate real jazz will attest. Live it is still the best Prince tour from a sheer musicality standpoint. Easily his best band ever.

EXODUS?!? Now I've heard everything.

All the skits, and the use of motherfucker every second word drag this pile of dogshit down. I don't like it overall. Warm to it, its my opinion, this is the internet not North Korea.

.

EXODUS sucks!!! mad Only Get Wild, Good Life and Cherry Cherry are okay.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

From the level of censorship sometimes, it's easy to think it is North Korea. lol

No worries. I respect your opinion. Sorry if I came off like I was attacking you. I'm not a huge fan of Exodus either. I was just surprised because I never see Orgers criticize it. I don't hate it. I always skip the skits. Some songs just go on forever. I actually like the earlier configurations of Exodus more than the released version.

Just a bunch of really wack jams with no real flow or theme. The One and Come On are great, but not worth listening through the rest of the dreck. This is my worst Prince album.... mad

.

For u purists who say its a NPG not Prince album - The Rainbow Children, lots of rubbish overlong jams that waffle on about JW's, how non JW's are bad and about being pleased to meet you Mrs Pearlman... confused

.

Exodus, NEWS, One nite alone are also pretty horrible

Exodus?!?! That ish is slamming. One nite alone? A decent effort.

I'm gonna go with MPLSound. Painful boasting, attacking fans, and boring timid ballads. Too bad a good album like Lotus has this turd tied to it. Elixer is much better.

It's Planet Earth for me, too. When it first came out I had quite a long commute to work and would listen to the album on the train thinking that eventually some of the songs would stick. They didn't and I gave up after a couple of weeks and never listened to the album in its entirety again.

I actually quite like some of the other albums named here, e.g. NPS, Emancipation. And Rainbow Children is great if you don't pay too much attention to the lyrics. Not a huge fan of 20ten but much better than Planet Earth.

I made my own copies without the segues and subsituted "Days of Wild" in place of "Cherry, Cherry". It's a great album and some of the best, richest funk Prince has ever done.

So most of us here agree Planet Earth is the least listenable Prince album.

As albums, maybe Chaos & Disorder and The Vault. They just don't seem like real albums. I guess htey are throwaway compilations. But Crystal Ball actually works really well as an album sequence (the first two discs).

Hands down Planet Earth. There are some songs I don't like on NPS but nothing is as bad, soulless, empty, plastic as Planet Earth imo (also Plectrum Electric but it's a 3rd eye girl album so it doesn't count).
Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!
