It's used a lot in the USA. I think mostly by teens or just young people in general

Sounds like a song by Moloko but with a lot less attention to detail. I think this tune would have had loads of potential to be a great head bobber but it sounds like he rushed it like he often seems to these days. It also doesn't sound at all organic which is a shame because the combo between Ida's bass playing and his guitar phrasing is awesome live. I also think his over use of multi tracking vocals but not thinning them out means everything is dominated by heavy handed vocal mixing. I think Prince's problem is more to do with production than song writing (not that this is really a song as such as its basically a groove). That being said he has always been guilty of knocking out a very mixed bag in terms of quality with some songs just sounding purile and not good examples of the genre in which they sit. The sheer output he has means that he will always have some gems and some dross but I wish he would come up with the idea and then turn the song into a well oiled machine like he did with some of the re-worked stuff from the gigs he played from the end of 2001 and to 2004. The band was so tight. If he played a groove like this with a band that tight, it would be totally awesome. It would leave breathing space to let the band improv and give it that spur of the moment feel that some of the better aftershow jams have. Its thos elittle moments of magic that are missing.

Bart please don't be so much bad faith, this is a DIGITAL single on iTunes, there is no prior investment in printing CD's, a record label can only MAKE money from releasing a single on iTunes no matter how little it sells, by no means lose any, and u know it perfectly.

Prince has announced so many records only to shelf them later that I'll only believe it when I see it, though...

That snippet sounds better than anything on AOA. Two things: -nobody said anything about a new album. -Princely history had shown us many times-take any announcement with a grain of salt until the album is actually in your hands
