Who could have thought Lenny would outcool Prince Was a semi Lenny fan early on but eventually found him annoying and always didn't like that he was mega obsessed with Princes cool from the Dirty mind period to the point of stalker territory. But after seeing him be ultra bad ass on the SB next to Prince appearing on GG wearing metallic oversized pijamas with the hair of a homeless lower east side bag lady i have to dismay and admit that Lenny won out in the cool contest.Sigh. | |

nobody outcools prince. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |

Next to Katy Perry's plastic pop princess persona, pretty much everyone looks cooler than they really are.

Lenny was there to sing the chorus of another person's pop song.. I liked seeing him in the limelight again given that I used to be a big fan, but damn, even Missy got to do more than one of her songs in Katy's set. This also weakens any opportunity he'll have of performing there himself for a long time to come. Maybe he'll never be big enough as a music artist again to do a show of that size. Lenny Kravitz looked like a Black version of Bon Jovi. A man that has been maligned for being too retro and wearing his influences on his sleeve, didn't even get to sing one of his own songs. You can't be serious but maybe you are. They both are cool - Lenny is "grunge" cool and Prince is "fresh" cool. The difference is that Prince looks like he actually bathes. | |
