I just realized this: The Org is "Fantasy Football" for P fans

I remember several years ago when fantasy football first emerged. i had NO IDEA it would take off as it has, thought it was pure idiocy (just like DWTS). but it has, to the point where there are millions of dollars to be won. Then i thought about it, there are millions of sports fans who are "armchair quarterbacks" (many who've never played a sport in their life) who think that if THEY were in charge of a team, a league, all of their omniscient know how would kick in and they'd NEVER lose again, period!

The Org is like fantasy football for legions of P fans it seems (many of whom have never played an instrument) I've been here a few years now and I do enjoy the seemingly less common threads that aren't overly nostalgic or critical, but it never ceases to amaze me the amount of dogmatic statements, conjecture and speculation presented as facts, on everything from what would have happened if he'd changed the order of song sequences, single releases, kept certain band members, did just the "right" TV appearances, promos, tour dates, etc. Several people here should be millionaire publicists, mangers, producers, etc. Hell, the right combination of Org'ers would have P STILL riding high like its 1984! What will the lottery be tomorrow? PM me u bitches! LOL

Don't get me wrong, I have strong opinions that I posit here often, but geez, use an "IMO", now and again and consider that since time isn't static neither are people and what u love from an artist may bore them to pieces 20 - 30 years later. Man! And to think that apart from his childhood product and posthumous releases, MJ only has 6 "full" albums and P's at 36 and counting! (depending on how you characterize "official") and the one "site" allowed to function as a "fan community" is overwhelmingly a perpetual purple bitch fest. We're some spoiled, entitled SOBs! I'm going to go listen to NPS!! If only for Wasted Kisses and The One making it out of "the Vault". and I'll bet something else will strike my ears afresh and make me like, damn, how'd i MISS that!

er

Reminds me a bit of what Bob Dylan said about his own "scholars, professors and Dylanologists: (...) I've given them life. They'd be nowhere without me."
