So who has made there own versions of AOA and Plectrum?

Ok so it bugged me that screwdriver remix wasnt on plectrum and since Hannah's vocals were already on plectrum I felt live out loud fell in nice with the flow and then I had to add a no no bootleg of a live version of 2 young to dare lol and as for AOA I felt rock and roll love affair should be there along with groovy potential , da bourgeoise , ain't gonna miss you when ur gone and boyfriend and then I threw in the bootleg studio version over the pa 2 young to dare since that fit as a horn boasted song. Forgive me Prince for I have sinned lol! Anyone else throw any others in such as that girl thang, extra moveable same page different book, etc. btw not holding my breath for the nog album as the doctor suggested might arise.

PE: I added screwdriver, RnR Love Affair, and LOL and took out pretzel, tic tac toe and stop this train.

AOA: I only added Groovy Potential and took out Breakfast (never been a fan of that song).

working on something for Plectrum Electrum. want to get rid of the non-Prince vocals. but adding in the more "organic" or analog-ish tracks from the last couple of years are so disparate in quality and style (RNRLA, Da Bourgeousie, Boyfriend, Groovy Potential, Screwdriver) that they kind of make a mess of it.

What did you do about the fact that The Gold Standard segues into U Know and you put a song with a building intro and quiet outro in between them?

Wow, OK good, I'm not alone. (But for very different reasons than some.)

First, Plectrum has some real good stuff on it. But it had to get an extreme makeover. I added Octopus Heart and Menstrual Cycle and cut some others I just couldn't get into on the first 3-4 listens.

Next, AOA - so far to my ears - can do without AOC and The Gold Standard (OK, I pushed them to the end on my mix CD, like bonus tracks so I could still give them a chance to sink in.)

I love starting the CD with the affirmations (even though 1 is supposed to blend into Way Back Home), and it very works well for me - with Way Back Home at the 3 spot. Affirmation III/WBH is just too breathtaking to wait till the end for to me.

Then comes, Clouds, Breakdown, U Know, Breakfast Can Wait, This Could Be Us, What It Feels Like, FunkNRoll and Time. All are pretty much beasts!

This flows and builds so well for me. Try it once.

Overall, despite my first-time ever meddling with a track order (forgive me, please), I am very, very, very impressed and pleased with the gems he dropped on us. Count me satisfied and still in awe!

All love

So ... I am not the only one who feels the tracklisting should be different.

Here is mine for AOA

Clouds

Breakdown

The Gold Standard

U Know

Breakfast Can Wait

What It Feels Like

Ain't Gonna Miss U When U're Gone

Time

Way Back Home (Affermation Suite I, II, III)

This feels a lot more natural to me.

The 'nurse' voice is now on the first and last tracks (more of a continuation)

The track OAC. Is OK, but doesn't fit on the album

The track This Could Be Us - doesn't fit with the rest of the tracks musically

The Funknroll remix - This souldn't be there.

The Way Back Home & Affermation tracks now are 1 long track which end the album very nicely.

Will take a look at PE next - will def remove the intro to PBL, and probably Marz as a start.

Been playing around with PE - which i am loving a little more than AOA at the moment

(Both are good albums though)

I have kind of extended PE:

-

Wow

PretzelBodyLogic (edited out the intro)

Ain'tTurnin'Round

FixUrLifeUp

PlectrumElectrum

WhiteCaps

BoyTrouble

StopThisTrain

LiveOutLoud

AnotherLove

TicTacToe

Screwdriver

FunknRoll

-

To me this has a good flow, with P & Hannah singing alternately (for the most part).

FixUrLifeUp followed by PE - as they played it on tour in 2013.

Inserted LiveOutLoud - which fits nicely

Replaced Marz (which i really don't like) with Screwdriver, which sounds awesome in the context of the album.

Plus - BoyTrouble seems to be my guilty pleaseure biggrin

6. Xtralovable (New version)

7. Da Bourgeoisie

8. Same Page, Different Book

9. The Breakdown

10. Groovy Potential

11. Keep your Boyfriend away from me

12. Breakfast can wait

13. Fall in love 2 nite

A nice mix of songs of Plectrum Electrum, AOA and unreleased trax here along with a couple of singles. The only song really missing is Liveout loud.

Ain't gonna miss u when ur gone matches up good wirTh the gold standard. Groovy potential fits AOA nicely as well. As does Fallinlovetonite.

Screwdriver and live out loud deserve to be on Plectrum electrum also.

For me, putting the FNR remix up front & PBL before Breakdown fleshes out a longer stroger start to the whole thing. The 'modern sounding' party song coming right off of AOC and then it then slides nicely in to Clouds. It's cool having a rock song 4th after Clouds' ultimate smoothness. Fixurlifeup is a good pick-up after the heavy ballad Breakdown and kind of gives an answer to it. Brokendown? Fixurlifeup! razz The funky set of Gold/Know/Breakfast has the fat ballad at the end of it which slides really excellently into Whitecaps (which I have starting directly on the toms). Wow picks up really nicely out of that (although it does make a really good opening song on the PE album). What It Feels Like goes really well with Stopthistrain right after it. Both songs are nice middle-of-the-road types featuring female vocals. Then one of AOA's strongest songs Way Back Home is back to back with one of PE's, Athotherlove. Marz & FNR fill out a rocking closing set of PE songs before the nice parachute songs Time & affirmation3 wrap the whole thing up. I like having the 2 1/2 rock songs & Time seperating the affirmation/Way Back Home pieces more than just with the FNR remix.

I am really enjoying this confiuration at the moment and of course I can pop in the discs anytime I want to hear it in Prince's intention.

not yet. i was busy doing other things on the weekend. I bought several so-so Van Gogh paintings, then I cut them in pieces and put them together in some great new collage. much better than the originals.

damn artists, themselves without outside help they have no clue how their art should look/sound like. bloody amateurs.

The Gold Standard has grown on me well, AOC is more bearable and the original tracking order is virtually restored. (Though it's still tough not to get my favorites. Enjoying the flow, though.
