I recorded the entire program when it first aired minus the video " Damn You ". LOL! I remember buying a dvd recorder the previous night just to catch those videos. Woke up 5 in the morning with a pot of coffee just to catch my boy Prince. Good Times biggrin

I watched most of it,but then I had to leave and go somewhere when "Somebody's Somebody" came on.As I watched these videos,I was thinking that it's such a shame that these videos aren't available on a DVD,or even on Youtube! Imagine a young,"new" fan who wants to see these videos but can't find them anywhere. What a shame.

Too bad they didn't show some of the rare videos, like "Let's Pretend We're Married" and "Automatic".

Prince could have made them available on his website for example but I guess he has already forgot about the 3rdeyegirl site

The clips of his past, live performances was awesome to watch. I agree that younger fans would be able to see the dynamics of Prince's music and live, performance talent, as well as his former proteges' talents. I know he stated in an interview, that he doesn't look back, but there is no way, whether you are a younger or older fan, can acknowledge or appreciate all of his talent, without watching some of those past, live concert performances, including the vids. As an older fan, I learned a lot about Prince's music and performance talent, from those vh1 clips that I wasn't aware of. Such as, songs I had never heard before, and I have to say that the funk sound of his Revolution, Sign of the Times, and Lovesexy band members combined on stage was a force, and they did Prince well. You get to see all of what Prince is about with those clips shown. He should really think about having those available for younger and even older fans. Seriously, that's a lot of Prince history. He's a music visionary, and a walking, gifted, encyclopedia of music and talent all in one body. That is all.

I have The Hits and D&P video collections on DVD, but they don't even scratch the surface.

Prince, if you're reading this please release this stuff. There's a market for it!

Thats true..i got frustrated last night because I didnt have the VH1 soul channel so I tried to dig and search for some vids on the internet.Keep in mind, im a young fan so I was dissapointed by the lack of results for music videos, concert footage, etc. Its really frustrating as a young aspiring artist to search for my favorite artist and see videos that i had already seen or concert footage that was taken down. P should really think about this and take it into consideration. There are only a handful of fans that have been there since day 1 with Prince. Is it my fault that I wasnt born early enough to see the good videos and footage? I believe in control over where music and footage is distributed but I dont agree with totally wiping it off of american internet. I have to go to foreign websites to see P videos. Thats ridiculous.

I really like the song choice they had. I feel like they played alot of good songs.

I thought I hadn't heard some of these Prince songs but It turns out I think I mgiht of; but.

I love how they order his songs from the 80's on up to the 00's.

I didn't realize what a success truly is his music.

I have alot of respect for him because usually an 70's-80's artist music usually start becoming tedious to newer generations; but Prince is STILL popular. Not to mention he is literally AGELESS. As the years went by he ctually got more graceful.

I was watching the ''Black Sweat'' music video (which was made back in '06)

He literally didn't have one wrinkle.

In fact I like him better when he doesn't wear so much make-up because you can really see his cuteness.

I'm not sure If there are other younger (as in Teenage) Prince fans here; but I can't definitely say Prince has my vote.

SO GORGEROUS.

He was especially adorable in Insatiable.

I love it when Prince creates those types of songs.

The holy River was AWESOME! I love how he can combine his sexiness with spirituality.

PURE GENIUS

Call my name.

I hadn't seen that music video in years, I really like what he did with that song.

Its just GOOD..Its just too good

I like seeing him in that kind of light.

He should do ''Neo soul'' more often.

***

Okay its in its correct spot smile

Vanessa doesn't own this page anymore.

Aww..you sound like a 16 year old nephew of mine, who said to me one day, that he is fan of Prince's music, but couldn't understand why he couldn't find WDC vid on youtube. I didn't know what to tell him, but there is definitely a plethora of younger fans that wish they had the opportunity to see past, live Prince performances, and many of his videos. Just imagine if all of James Brown or Jimi Hendrix's material, was wiped off the internet, now that would be a travesty.

It is also a travesty that the estates of James Brown and Jimi Hendrix do not see one dime of income from people watch their vids on YOUTUBE. The public does not purchase if they can view for free and trust me Goggle is making money off those annoying ads that clutter YOUTUBE.

Your nephew has a good point. But thats why I look up to folks like Jimi Hendrix and James Brown because they were historic entertainers and its easy to find their concert footage and videos. I understand P not wanting his stuff all over the internet especially not on Youtube..its just a pity that those such as me who were born later cant see what we want in order to get inspirtion or see the history of the 70s and 80s prince footage.

I'm aware that artists should get paid for their material, and rightly so. I'm not saying Prince's music should be for free on the net or any other artist's music should. Just saying it would be nice if past, live performances, as shown on Vh1soul, were made available for purchase. That is all...I'm done.
