If it is indeed true that all of Prince's WB product will finally be getting proper reissues, how does this jive with his newfound resolve to no longer use swear words? Since he now owns his masters, will he backmask or bleep out the cuss words?

Can you imagine 'Housequake' getting such treatment? I perish the thought.

I dont think he will bleep out the words or at least i hope not. It wouldnt be a smart business strategy. What prince fan would buy that? As far as sexual lyrics go, those wont change. Just look at some of his recent albums. Lotusflow3r is filled with sex and blasphem. Breakfast can wait is all about sex. In Never B Another Like Me he says " i cant stand nobody cussin at me WHEN IM CLEAN" and laughs at the end like a little boy. Face it..he is the same ole prince just a little bit more experienced and aware. Dont even worry about the lyrics, maybe some will be added but not taken away. What i fear is that he will replace some if the lyrics with "goody two shoes" lyrics but im keeping my fingers crossed with u guys.

A very legitimate concern!

Word through the grapevine is, that all Prince's Warner Brothers output will be whittled down to one remastered cd, which contains all the 'clean' songs. This will the shortest Remaster Campaign ever! Prince is ahead of the pack once again! M A S T E R P I E C E

Off the top of my head I cannot think of any curse words in Purple Rain. Or ATWIAD or Parade for that matter. I don't think he uses them on FY/Prince/Controversy either.

Really the only 2 early albums that are curse-heavy are Dirty Mind and 1999.

Would make a very interesting addition to our collections though. But personally I would like to have the original albums remastered (remastered properly as well) and new, clean versions, re-performed and mastered correctly. I'm skint before I even see a press release

If they're gonna do it they surely have to do it properly? He'd be ridiculed off the planet by all the serious music press let alone the tabloids and so on. This is his big chance to conform and do something that will be appreciated by all and make him a good sum of money.

As for Dirty Mind, well we already have that on heavyweight vinyl, as we do 1999 (which arrived by post yesterday and has had its first playing on my new turntable today!).
