The Human Body, worship it bitches.

I was moderate about The Human Body for years, since I'm not a huge house music fan but this song has really stuck in my craw. It really is a marvelous song, really well constructed. He abandoned this type of tune, have no idea why. NME said it was the best song on the album.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Always loved it.

A dark, ominous sounding masterpiece.

I made my own one disc Emancipation compilation the other day. I know it's been done a million times before, but I really believe this 12 track set would've been by far Prince's best album of the 90s:

1. Emancipation

2. Interactive

3. Face Down

4. Soul Sanctuary

5. Courtin Time

6. Joint 2 Joint

7. Curious Child

8. Dreamin' About U

9. New World

10. The Human Body

11. The Love We Make

12. In This Bed Eye Scream

To me, that is pretty much the perfect Prince album.

i love the way this segues into that remix of Hot Wit U (hate that song but love that remix)

on one of the last few ahdio shows that were released through the npgmc. that was a nice

mix of songs.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

funkomatic

I like the direction, but it seems as if Prince would have needed to dig a lot deeper in order to get a real quality result.

Interactive?

Yup. Emancipation needed a rock song imo.

Yeah but Interactive is Come/Gold material.

But was unreleased, so technically it could've been put on the album....

Actually it was released though not on an album: it was on the Interactive CD-Rom. Doesn't make your point less valid, just being picky here. I don't think its sound fit the sound of Emancipation anyway: Interactive is too dark and "dirty" for the very polished sound of Emancipation IMO.

I know what you mean, but oddly enough, I think it works on my playlist. It seems to flow quite effortlessly from Emancipation and into Face Down.

It was released on an album: Crystal Ball. Still doesn't belong on Emancipation.

It was unreleased at the time of Emancipations release.

earlier in the life of this thread, b4 anyone posted, i had to Google the song to see what album its on, that's how underwhelming Emancipation was/is for me. I'll dig out disc 3 and see how this track sounds to my ears now.
