Remember all the hot chicks you would see in the record store?

Not really, no. You must have gone to different stores.

OH man, sorry to hear that. Some times the well was dry, some times it over flowed.

I said it a while ago, and I'll probably get flamed for it again, but that album will never see the light of day. Sorry. I don't know anyone in the inner circle, it's a strong hunch. Tours usually support an album once it's been released. He's been playing the 3EG stuff since last year.

He has a history of shelving his OWN projects, where they're literally completed, pressed, and ready to be distributed. Why would he give a second thought to shelving an uncompleted album?

.

We'll never truly know the dynamic between Prince and 3EG. Maybe they're a great LIVE band but not tight enough for the studio? Maybe he just got bored with them.

.

Personally, I think he was hedging his bets with 3EG vs. the WB contract . . . if the WB fell through, at least he had his album for this year worked out.

.

Then again, we could very well see it this fall after the initial rush of Purple Rain 30th Anniversary is over. Sad that by then it will have been damn near 2 years since he starting releasing stuff with 3EG.

What about selling it or giving it away for free, during the upcoming concerts? I'd love to see that vinyl at the merchandise stand.

if warners is releasing prince's solo album first and then the PR remaster,

the only possible time PE can logically be released is late fall/early winter.

/

but only if the solo album is released in a month or so, then PR in summer.

/

that would give each album a 3 month period for promotion and such, with

PR obviously having a longer shelf life.

/

he might just tinker with PE some more, adding other songs, 'perfecting' it

for a while, as he slows down recording new music to concentrate on the

overlooking of re-issues of his back catalogue.

/

well, in a perfect world.

Just like he 'perfected' ENDORPHINMACHINE from it's original rugged splendour to the ultra shiny, siren laden, cowbell ridden cousin we hear on TGE. Hmmm

i don't think any amount of tinkering could make the PE songs any more rugged

since they are already way too full of superflous stuff.

those cymbals on FunkNRoll for example. i mean, i just, i can't. lol

It's a pity the project was shelved. I mean, I'm sure it was unlistenable, but the girls seemed fairly excited about it.

maybe it's time for Prince to put an end to these protege side projects. It's not the 80s anymore and let's be honest, none of these albums become successful, anyway. He should probably just focus on getting his own albums released.

I wouldn't really call it a protégé album, just a way to differentiate between the pop stuff and his more rock oriented stuff

Its a bit a running Joke but also with endorphin machine it shows that too much bells and Whistler can be added when you leave prince to long behind the counter.
There is a theory that hè added the cowbell to differentiatie the version from the Interactieve release and water down this version for warners.

You can be honest with something being your opinion, but not when you've stated something as if it were fact and you were verifying or confirming it with your statement. Its the difference between subjective and objective facts. Most of this thread is speculation because none of it is objectively verified fact unless its come from either Prince's camp or one of the labels involved with him. Therefore the statement in question was not "honest" because its subjective speculation about objective circumstances the poster has no insider information on. I know it pains people to sit back and wait, but filling in the informational blanks with speculation is no replacement for having objectively verified information

Change it one more time..

Some of you people really seem to be bitter about that cowbell.
