I don't know if its just me,but I am not excited about any of his
projects anymore. Maybe one day It will come back, but until
then I will sit back and enjoy the ride. I do miss the webcast..i like when
he was up there with the DJ and he was on the mic. i also enjoyed the gentleman foing the piano solos and performing live..those were cool to watch.

Not sure why people are presuming that Plectrum electrum has been put on the back burner, these talks with WB wont have happened over night and have probably been going on for as much as 12 months, its a multi-million dollar deal! So during this time they have still been posting about it and only a few week ago posting photo's of the test pressing. I think the album will drop this year as planned smile

PRINCE TO 3EG: Im in talks with WB but it could take years. So lets cut an album and get on the road.

3EG: Great!

PRINCE: But I warn you, the WB deal could come up at any time. And if it does, you guys are toast.

3EG: Ok, we understand.

3EG [whispers under their breath]: but we all know Prince and WB will never really sign any CONtract.

PRINCE: Right then. The albums finished. Looks like we will release it! Lets do a hit n run tour of the UK, they love us there. Then lets take over a chat show and release another single. We will then release the album in February.

3EG [Jump for joy]: This will be brilliant! We have become such a tight band and the album is fantastic! Thank you Prince, you have made our careers!

PRINCE [a few weeks later]: Ok, ive signed with WB and have a solo album coming out. Now I need to compile my tracks in the vault. Girls, its been real. Now fuck off and leave me alone.

3EG [on Twitter at the end of May 2014]: @Prince - fucking retard cancelled on us! Download your bootleg copy of PE at this link http://.......

I'm almost positive Plectrum will come out on WB concurrent with Purple Rain Remastered and get the benefit of max hype.

I predict an arena tour with 3EG timely with the release of both those albums.

I do not think there will be more than a secretive one off or two with the Revolution members. The thing about that is, it would require the show to focus on a certain repertoire from a short time period, a long time in the past, and it would be very out of character for Prince to do that.

I think it could be musically great, if it could be made to workl. I saw Wendy jam with him at House of Blues LA in 2004 and it was magical. Can only imagine what it would be like with a little rehearsal. But he's so impulsive and so naturally focused on what's going on right now. He's about the last guy I could imagine doing a "Purple Rain in its entirety" type of show, that was billed as that and tickets sold with that idea.

It seems he's more focused on playing oldies, and covers. He also has high interest in singing the name of the city he is playing in over and over. He also has a fascination with bald background singers with great singing voices wasting them by shouting Crowd Flunky stuff over and over. And at times, he can be the best live performer on the planet, when the spirit moves him.

The Purple Rain album is 45 minutes, and he could easily perform it minus Darling Nikki in about 50 minutes with some extra jams thrown in, but I'm scared he'd just start chanting something for 3 minutes at the end of a song over and over...but who knows? Maybe he'll do something extraordinary.

Unless it's like the Lotusflow3r cd's. We could get 3 cds for 11.99 or 2 cds one Prince and one 3rd eye girl (which will probably happen). Now, that's just a guess, but seeing how we haven't had an album release in sometime, I could see Prince doing that.

They may have broken up but the 3EG CD will still come out. Remember he already signed the deal with Epic for it. He most like is doing the rock album through Epic and a R&B album through WB. I think this is a great strategy and something I wish he would continue to do. As a rock fan I hate sifting through his albums for the 2 or 3 rock songs per album. I also know the R&B fans do not really care for his new rock stuff so this is a great strategy. Release different themed albums, one for the pop rock people and one for the R&B/funk people. The die hards will buy both and the others can buy it if they like it. I have always wished he would do this. Hopefully this is the start of that.

Firstly, only that hopeless single was released on Epic. Where did you hear PE was on Epic too? What about Kobalt? Also, why would you think that WB would allow this anyway? I cant see WB agreeing to allow Prince to release stuff on other labels at the same time that they are planning to release something themselves.

.

Remember why one of the reasons the original breakup happened? WB didnt want P to release as much as he was releasing at the time. And TMBGITW aside, didnt allow him to release anything on his own or other labels either.

.

WB will want to capitalise on the PR reissue and do their best to promote what will inevitably be an average new album. They aint going to want another album on another label playing against them. Especially if the 3EG album is a better effort than the solo album.

.

Of course, it is possible Prince just shafted Kobalt/Epic (or whoever) and gave the album to WB. In which case we will see a staggered release schedule as opposed to everything at once.

.

But more than likely, the WB deal is the only game in town now. And unfortunately that makes 3EG somewhat redundant. Into the vault it goes and the girls join the dole queue.

If its released/singned under 3EG it could be released on any label I think as 3rd Eye Girl and not Prince there is probabaly nothing WB could do about it as in theory on paper its a seperate artist/group. And i think Kobalt is a Publisher, rather than a Label they take care of the Royalties etc... so its quite posssible that WB has the 3EG album signed to them unless it's already signed to another label such as Epic, but it does seem that just Fall in love tonight track was signed as a one off, may be wrong though?

Kobalt offer a range of services including Kobalt Label Services (ie a record label handling manufacturing, promotion and distribution. They are ALSO a publisher but that can be a separate package. Basically the appeal is that artists can be as light tough or heavily involved with Kobalt as they choose.

Maybe Plectrum electrum will come out on Kobal then or even a joint effort with WB?, but pretty sure if its marketed as 3EG he is within his rights to sign it with other labels if he has signed as Prince (Solo) with WB.

.

Before Prince signed with Kobalt, Travis signed with them, but they released their Album on their own label (Telephone box) using Kobalt for other things, possible Prince did something similar maybe with a plan to release through his NPG label and keep control of the masters?

Today's market sucks. I had rather go to a record store than just buy through iTunes.... SO boring. Remember all the hot chicks you would see in the record store? Can't buy that experience on iTunes. Remember walking through and looking at all there was to offer? Can't get that experience on the front page of iTunes. Remember the impulse to buy a t-shirt off the wall? Can't get that experience on iTunes. Remember when a whole album had to excite in order to sell, and artist had to be on top of their game? That day has gone the way of the doe doe. So much change, and not so much for the better.
