Yes there are. And that's why we've been open so far to hearing all of them. A lot of people have contacted me with fascinating stories and ideas. Ben, the founder of this site, told me we could probably do 4 or 5 story lines. I agree we need to start narrowing down our focus. I have been doing endless research. I just feel that a few dollars from interested fans isn't too much of a stretch or a gamble for a possibly fantastic outcome. Nothing is garunteed other than a finished product. There are also a lot of non Prince fans that are at least curious about learning more. They know that he is extremely talented and mysterious. I have learned this by throwing parties. I'm also getting good feedback from media and entertainment people because, I believe, of the same reasons.

We have a CGI specialist out in LA that is willing to work on this project simply because he is interested in it. You can see from the trailer that he has already blotted out the images. I think there could be a great amount of comedic material that could arise out of this limitation, such as having to move interviewees further and further away from the parties as to get out of the reach of the music.

I think there is a lot of interesting material. And I think it has the potential of a great film.

However, it can also become a superficial random babble film.

I hope you know that I'm not just being negative here.

I'm just playing the devil's advocate.

Especially if everybody is cheering and kissing ass, there's always the danger of thinkng that they are right and that everything you come with for this documentary is fantastic.

Stay alert and don't settle for mediocracy!

Always ask yourself the question why it's relevant or interesting.

This is the worst thread that was ever created on the prince.org and shows how lame the fans are wanting to appear on a shitty dvd.... get real you motherfuckers and stop embarressing yourselves with your issues of ASD. I am surprised that the prince.org allowed this thread to be exclusive and they must be the ones that are suffering from ASD from the beginning.

Just a question, don't you think that the incarceration of Barrett Brown is much more interesting and relevant than Prince fans?

I mean, if I got the change to make a documentary, I would choose the "freedom" of press in America.

I would make it about how the government used all kind of dirty tricks to imprison Barrett Brown.

And I would question the LAPD about not releasing the board computer of the Micheal Hastings car. And preventing an independant investigation on his body, by means of cremating his body fast.

And why the traffic of phone and other signals at the moment of his accident has not been investigated. It's fairly easy to find out if there has been made contact with the board computer of his car.

And I would investigate the so-called suicide of Micheal Schwartz.

I mean, isn't a government that covers up a 'car accident' of a journalist an important topic for a documentary?

And a government who incarcerates a journalist with at least very questionable legal procedures, whilst claiming to be the most free country in the world, is a more interesting subject for a documentary than Prince fans, isn't it?

Hilarious. yes, those people are clamoring to watch a documentary on a former pop star who cannot compete in the market when it comes to selling albums.

To me, what's special about the Prince fan community is the group of diehard fans who document every performance and recording, share articles and photos, keep podcasts and websites running all for free, all on their own time and at their own expense, all for the benefit of other fans (present and future) in the absence of an official platform and, more importantly, often in spite of Prince.

.

You seriously think that ain't happening with other artists?

.

There is very little personal pay off and the high caliber of many of these projects

.

"High caliber"? Seriously? The P fan community is about a decade behind (if not more), PRECISELY BECAUSE P IS SUCH AN ASS. Go look at the NIN community, folks who crowdsource money to liberate Coil remixes that had been shelved long ago.

Bart is not some monkey in the zoo.

His story is interesting, because of what he has been trough with Prince.

And his need to unveil any false idealization. And sometimes revenge for the pain Prince caused him.

.

I just love how famz keep making shit up, and are obsessed with people like me.

Don't flatter yourself, it's not you specifically, but the notion someone would keep following an artist for 20 years after being bitterly and irrevocably disappointed, and troll the fan sites just to rile up those who do not share his bitterness and displeasure.

As a subject, I am about 10 times more interesting than you as a double cochlear implantee obsessed with Prince music (but not Prince himself). And here is your cue to say something droll about one explaining the other. My pleasure, your trolling satisfaction.

i think prince has a hardcore group of fans who go beyond almost all other artists bart . the only other artist who's fans come close to diehard prince fans are bowie followers imo . the reason for this is he is a genius...or he WAS a genius depending on how you view his career . i believe you fall into this category . there aint many in music in the last 50 years who you can really say that about . thats why he is interesting and a good documentary on his fanbase would be very watchable..if done properly...which i have real doubts it will .

as much as nin are a good band bart...you cant compare them to prince in any way..springsteen..madonna..jackson.stevie wonder..bowie......maybe.

Irrelevant. You don't like it, lots of people did.

Presumably, Bruce's fans are an important part of the show because he trawls the audience for requests? I disagree this makes them an important part of the show.

You don't need to "care" about something to watch a film about it.

Nothing is bothering me, I suppose, if anything, I find you (well - your pathological rudeness) amusing. I'm not obsessed by you (others may be) but I do find it interesting that you need to shoot down others for being Prince fans. Actually, maybe I am obsessed - for example, I've oftened wondered if you populate Beatles websites and crucify Macca for not writing as well as he did in the 60s? Or The Stones. Or, well, just about anybody....

The only chance I could be interested in a documentary on P's fans is if Prince did it himself. And even then, I dunno. I'm not specifically a fan of Prince fans.
