That says enough to me.

for fucks sake, you will have it this month.. It is on Kobalt, the same label that released Liv's album under the NPG moniker

Say you had the release date, then what for you,, what would you complain about then,, i truly hope you are being a troll about this and this is not you

And where can one buy Liv's album on CD?

All I can find is digital...

confused

THIS.

I personally do not like her vocals on LOL at all.

Hopefully it's the ONLY song she sings lead on. I don't care if she adds backing vocals, though.

jeez, i will post it again. The Mojo reporter clearly states that Prince is the lead vocalist on the album. He doesnt not recall anybody else singing lead vocals. At the moment we can only go on somebody who has actually heard it! And he heard it 1st January this year. I carnt see it changing that much since then.

And lastly, i'll trust Prince's judgement on how to make and release music over any genius on the org including you unless of course you have some credibilty in doing just that over the last 4 decades.

This knee grow never been sensible in that sort of way..why you expecting that now getting worked up over a release date..take a valium and chill and watch arsenio on wednesday

Please learn to quote my stuff properly.

Simply stating your feelings does not help convince anybody.

You even act as if it is normal, acceptable, whatever he does.

The article title suggests that it is a spring release, the very first yet very vague reference to a timeframe.

This reference is quite flexible, depending on the hemisphere you're in, as well as whether you believe in 'climate change' (and I mean not the human influence). In the Netherlands spring started in february this year.

The article text does not mention a release schedule, release date or whatsoever.

It is again the ultimate vagueness.

We're discussing not a surprise release anymore, so why the vagueness about the release?

The only logical explanation (see Occam) is because there is no release date. Perhaps not even a release.

Why else break off doing showss after a few shows around London and even less in Manchester after stating that he would stay a month or words along that line.

I do not watch TV. I download it.

he pretty much was there from 2/5 to last week,,,really you want him to stay 30 days to satisfy his month comment....he is now back in the states gearing up for arsenio..its a digital release so release dates arent that important from a logistical stand point where sales folks and buyers need to ready a physcial copy..

i think too much importence is put on this article, on the last show in manchester Prince or a band member said they were having a break and in that time releasing the album, so i would expect this album to drop this month. It looks like the uk going to get it sooner rather than later anyhow.Which is good for us uk fans!

You can't see it changing that much but, just for the sake of accuracy, the reporter said he had no clue whether the version he heard would be close to a released version. He heard it 2 months ago. That's a long time in Princeworld, and Prince has even admitted these songs keep evolving.

So, Hannah on lead vocals please.

Am I the only person who liked LOL?? Like I REALLY like that song. It has a shoegazing sound to it that I'm very fond of. Maybe I'm weird.. but then again there were people in another thread praising the NPG solo albums, so I guess there's an audience for just about anything that he puts out.

Change it one more time..

LOL is not a bad but not great either, I'm still sure I would've enjoyed it more if Prince sang lead vocals on it. However, LOL is far better than Pretzelbodylogic

My point is that it is not a 3rdeyegirl album (at least not the two songs which have been released) but a Prince & 3rdEyeGirl. Just like Purple Rain was Prince & the Revolution and Diamonds and Pearls was Prince & the NPG. Which didn't stop Prince from being the main vocalist in the albums and which (hopefully) will not stop him from doing the main vocals in this one...

To clear up any ambiguity I'd suggest everyone either (i) listens to Will Hodgkinson's interview with Dr Funkenberry or (ii) reads his interview in Mojo (which is not online yet). He clearly states that Plectrum Electrum has Prince on lead vocals on all the tracks - barring the instrumentals of course.

He goes on to say that the version of "Wow" he heard probably was an instrumental. The standout track - for both him and apparently Prince - is "Whitecaps" which he says is almost Crosby, Stiils & Nash-esque. Then there's a track called "Tictactoe" that has an ethereal, dreamy sound inspired by the Cocteau Twins. FuncknRoll and PretzelbodyLogic are also both on the album.

Apparentyl Plectrum Electrum has a rich, organic, rocky Led Zeppy sound and it would be well suited to vinyl. Let's hope that happens. He also said the closest Prince album it felt like was Purple Rain.

As to release date, who the hell knows? it's Prince and he might just pull the plug, but that seems unlikely as he seems to really want this record to be a hit. In Manchester he said they were going to take a break, release the album and then come back. I hope he doesn't change his mind but I suspect this album will live 2 C The Dawn...

HANNAH DOES HAVE LEAD ON AT LEAST ONE SONG

Oh my god its a first world problem! biggrin

It was played thru the P.A in Manc and Hannah came on dancing about and miming to it after the show.

It did sound really good and she can move! But it was bass heavy and had a RnB vibe so yes most of you will probably hate it and it will become a first world problem.

In other news wait for the album to come out, listen to it, THEN MOAN! (if you must)

It's possible that it might not be on the album - it didn't really seem to fit in with the Plectrum Electrum feel (as much as we know about that).

LOL, very true. But to be fair to the guy I think he said Purple Rain was the closest in feel, not that it sounded anything like it. Clearly it's very guitar-heavy but I guess we knew that.

Also, I'm not sure that song played over the PA in Manchester is on the album, certainly not the version that hte Mojo guy heard.

As stated in another thread the whole Wow instrumental thing is a misunderstanding and that the interviewer was not allowed to take notes and got confused, I'm pretty certain the instrumental is Plectrum Electrum and Wow is the Prince vocal version of The Unexpected.

Could the OP or a mod please post a link to the original story? I can't find it on my phone on Rolling Stone's mobile site.

I know it's standard practice around here, but it's illegal to post an entire story from a media outlet onto another website. How do we expect these magazines and newspapers to make any money and continue to provide stories that we like?

Actually I wasn't referring to WOW but the mystery Hannah song played over the PA in Manchester.
