What a pleasant surprise to log on and see this. Love everything about this kid. Totally love his song choice, and one of my favorite songs by Prince. The music is so haunting, the outfit with the symbol says it all and most importantly the performance was outstanding. Hope Prince checks it out. It made my day and I’m sure it will make his day as well. Thank u so much crpaisleyfan 4 sharing.

Katarina Witt used the song in 1991.

I don't know much about figure skating but that was pretty sweet. Will P hit him with a cease order for wearing the symbol...only time will tell.

Some incredible skating there! Love his Prince inspired outfit too; the symbol on his back, the shoulder pad and the buttons down his pants. biggrin

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Superb! Impressive young skater, love it!

I saw a performance by Daisuke Takahashi last year and I thought it was The Question of U he was skating to, but it was Eddy Louiss "Blues For Klook"

Let's see how long it take for Prince to sue this guy's ass for using the symbol on his outfit.

That is too cool! I also loved the '80s and '90s Prince-inspired designs of the costume. And a fantastic choice of song. This is my first time watching Jason Browne and he did Prince justice with his performance! He does not just skate; he is truly dancing on ice. Lot of style and dramatic flourish. Hope P. watches this. Jason did him proud. cool

Prince will be honored that a 19 year old kid used the symbol and picked a stellar, obscure song of his to perform to, Says a lot about him

He's been skating to this for at least a couple years--pants have always looked similar; the purple jacket/symbol is new this year; program a bit revamped. He made the Olympic team, so it'll be fun to see the song get some huge exposure. Too bad it's only after the Olympics that all skaters are allowed to use the lyrics with their music . . .

Wow! He's such a great skater - what an outstanding performance! I loved watching figure skating back in the golden late 80s-90s - my favorites were Gordeeva & Grinkov, but there were so many greats back then - but I haven't kept up for more than a decade, so I'd never heard about Jason Brown before. I will watch this Olympics because my niece is actually a competitive figure skater (only 12 y.o. now, but with future amibitions). She tells me that Ilia Kulik's daughter (with Gordeeva) skates competitively in the same So. Cal. circuit as she does.

Nice. I felt like the lights in the rink should have been wayyy down.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.
