Yes, he just performed it at the Olympics - saw it today on TV. He did a great job.

The commentators mentioned the music is by Prince a couple of times, and also mentioned that his performance of this at the US Championships got tons of YT hits, and this one from the Olympics will too.

As purplesnow points out, Prince didn't want a baby dancing to his song on YT - is he OK with Brown skating to his song on YT, with tons of views? It would be bad PR for him to go after an Olympic skater representing team USA...

Like some others I did wonder if someone from Prince's camp was going to charge onto the ice, take him down and strip him whilst shouting about copyright infringement!! lol

Personally, i would give him the gold medal for song choice and outfit alone! The fact he was good was a bonus.

Prince didn't have a problem when Katarina Witt used the song multiple times for her performances back in the 90ies. This Brown guys just copies Katarina.

Awesome performance.

It's great for Prince fans to hear the music and see his outfit. The trousers, purple and gold, the symbol, it's a great ode to Prince.

And for Prince it's good marketing. I think only the fans know this song, and due to this performance during the Olympics, about 2 milliard people heard Prince music they probably never heard before.

And the kid is pretty good at ice skating. So, Prince and Princefans can look forward to Mr. Browns upcoming long career, with hopefully more Prince songs and references!

I caught Jason last month at Nationals with the very popular River Dance piece....I'm jaded when it comes to the Olympic skaters...so much bullshit with the judging.....
Jason is not technically wearing to full out symbol, so if there is any flack shame on Prince.....I almost fell off my couch when he turn his back to the camera and BAM Prince symbol....then The ? Of U....come on it couldn't get any better for me at 3am....I don't sleep well and was catching up on what I missed. Btw I see that some videos posted of this the sound has been snatched already... sad

babynoz	How comes they locked the other thread? It wasn't about Jason, it was about Mae Berniece Meite who also danced to Prince. I cant find the olympic vid but here's another one of her dancing to Q of U. Who knew it was such a popular skating song? Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Would be great if he (via 3rdeye?) somehow gave a shout-out to this guy, like post a "congrats" on his twitter or something.
The US luge team member Kate Hansen mentioned on NBC that she listens to Beyoncé as pre-comp warm-up, and then Lo and behold Beyoncé contacts Hansen with a "congrats." Then NBC ends up mentioning it again, Beyoncé get her name checked again, and we see an Olympian all happy and gushing. Great little PR.
That's what MANAGERs are for - to make sure they catch references like this and make you the artist look good.
