Titanic was inspired by Under the Cherry Moon

Yes. I said it!

So I'm watching Titanic, and the parallels are too similar to be a coincidence. It's no doubt that James Cameron was inspired by Prince's direction and visual command of cinema. And the story too!

Mary is Rose.
Christopher Tracy is Jack.
Isaac Sharon is Cal.
Nice, France is the magnificent Titanic.

La Pavilion is the party in steerage.
Mary's mom is Rose's mom.
Isaac has evil henchman. Cal has evil henchman.
Making love at the Grotto is making love in the car when Rose and Jack were hiding.

There's no doubt in my mind that James Cameron stole Prince's intellectual property!

So what if Titanic has made over $2 billion and UTCM made 20 bucks. Prince should be pissed!

Chris died. Jack died.

Neither Mary nor Rose ever married after Chris and Jack died.

This just proves that Prince was a visionary. Way ahead of his time!

And I honestly believe that Cameron owes Prince an apology. And a share of the Titanic profits!

Jack said to Rose "Not here. Not this night."

Tricky said to God "Not here. Not now!"

The movies are identical!!

Not sure why Titanic won awards and UTCM didn't. Go figure!

Interesting...but Rose did marry after Jack's death. "Old Rose" was named Rose Calvert.

You've got it the wrong way round. UTCM copied the original titanic movie.

The coincidences are impossible to ignore.

The original titanic was in black and white.
UTCM was in black and white in an era where colour was available.
Titanic was set on a boat.
UTCM had a boat in it
Titanic had an iceberg
Mary was an iceberg (until she melted) but ultimately destroyed Christopher.
Navigating the titanic through the icebergs was tricky
UTCM had tricky
Both movies were screened in cinemas
Both movies had a musical score
There were girls and boys in the escape boats
Chris sang girls and boys in UTCM
Titanic had a STOWaway.
UTCM had a wreckaSTOW.

I wonder if Prince would have a case however in suing a steaming pile of horse manure for copying the plot of Graffiti Bridge!

* In the Titanic, the musicians went down with the ship... Similar to what happened to The Revolution following UTCM.

* In the Titanic, there were too many life-boats that were let away with empty seats, so many lost their lives unnecessarily... Similar to what what happened to UTCM, when there were too many empty bums-on-seats in the cinemas, that many lost their careers unnecessarily.

* I heard there was also a deleted scene in the Titanic in which Jack was trying to teach Rose about the "wrecka steerage" (i.e., the record number of steerage passangers) they had in 3rd class. Cameron deleted this because it was clearly a blantant rip off UTCM's "wrecka stow" gag.

Prince wrote With This Tear for Celine Dion, and then she later sang My Heart Will Go On
Leonardo DiCaprio was in Romeo & Juliet in which Quindon Tarver sang When Doves Cry
Kate Winslet was in Heavenly Creatures directed by Peter Jackson, and Prince is something of a Hobbit, or maybe a Purple wizard "Prince the Purple"
I'm really beginning to see all the connections

In UTCM, people were running to save themselves from bats.

In Titanic, people were running to save themselves from the icy waters of the Atlantic.

Mary wanted to run away for a couple of hours.

Rose wanted to run away for a couple of hours.

Mary reminisced at the end when Chris was dead.

Rose reminisced at the end when Jack was dead.

Chris wore a long trench coat.

Jack stole a long trench coat. (Although he said he was just borrowing it.)

I'm telling you... it's the SAME MOVIE!!!

If you take all the dialog from UTCM and rearrange it, add some, then take some away you end up with the exact same dialog in Titanic razz

Mary didn't know what she wanted.

Rose didn't know what she wanted.

Titanic had scenes of the Atlantic Ocean.

UTCM had scenes of the Meditteranean Ocean.

Mrs. Wellington was a whore.

Cal said that Rose was Jack's gutter whore.

Chris taught Mary how to have fun.

Jack taught Rose how to spit.

Jack never made it to New York.

Chris never made it back to Miami.

The movies are IDENTICAL!!!

This is pretty ridiculous. Both UTCM, Titanic and countless other romantic dramas are derived from Romeo and Juliet. The idea of forbidden love against all the odds is an old old story.

Christopher Tracy did splits during Girls and Boys.

The Titanic split in half.

Christopher Tracy went off in a motorboat.

The people who drowned in Titanic wished they had a motorboat.

Chris did it to Mary's mom.

Jack did it to Cal's fiance.

SAME MOVIE!!! biggrin
