To me it sounds like the perfect title track for a James Bond movie. Whenever I hear it I see that typical Bond opening sequence with silhouettes of naked female dancers, smoke, etc. in my mind.

Tempted to announce just how much I genuinely like Wedding Feast, too, not as an individal track but as a brilliant segue within an otherwise dense and heavy album, TRC. But maybe I should quit whilst I appear to be in company with Arms of Orion!

You and I share the same entrypoint to Prince: I was also 11 when Batman game out, and I was so obsessed with the movie that I made my mom buy me the album, even though my previous thought on Prince was "gross". Nothing was ever the same again!

I've always loved "Arms Of Orion" too. It might be cheesy, but it's a nice melody and Prince's vocals are outstanding.

Worst song ever written by the man. Easily. There are many bad things, (Jughead, for example) that I'd rather listen to and I dislike Jughead as much as the rest. A.O.O = P.O.S.

I have always liked this song boxed to me,it really sounds likes a movie theme song.Such a shame that the 'Batman' filmmakers couldn't find any use for it.

We share exactly the same heritage; forcing our respective mothers to buy the Batman album because of our love for the movie and previously thinking Prince was weird. My elder sister recalls that I apparently saw Prince a year earlier in the Alphabet St video and remarking something along the lines of, "What kind of,music is this?" Oh, how the times have changed!

Always liked it. Always liked "Graffiti Bridge" too. They seem very un-Prince like in a way, but the melodies are great in both cases, and that's what counts. AOO is probably the better written of the two. Certainly beats the shit out of "Partyman" which was completely pedestrian.

In my opinion, "Graffiti Bridge" is among Prince's best melodies, and, at the end of the day, melody is what counts.

NOT ashamed to say it has always been one of my favorite Prince songs. It's on one of my Spotify playlists right now. That doesn't mean I play it when I host a party, but in the car... when no one else can hear me sing along... look out.

I enjoy this song, though it was probably a song ordered by studio to become a hit along the lines of Somewhere Out There by Linda Rondstadt & James Ingram. I think it's well suited for Sheena, more her style than 101 or Sugar Walls. I love the lyrics evoking the Sea of Tranquility and celestial scenes. Beautiful imo

Except that "Somewhere Out There" has a BORING melody. If you're gonna do schmaltz you'd better come with a great melody. The song will stand or fall on that basis. Without good melodies, people like Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney would have been rounded up and shot by now.

I like this song. It was never a favorite of mine, but its a good song. I prefer Scandalous.

Sheena really out sings him tremendously. Her voice is lovely, and his is kind of ugly in this tune. It's like beauty and the beast.

But the orchestral sound is fantastic.

It is what it is. A movie love tune.
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

If Fievel means Lionel, I'll give him his due. He wrote a handful of brilliant songs, but there were definitely times when he drifted way off into cornville. In fact he didn't just drift off there. He bought a house there and took up permanent residence. He had skills though. Can't take that away from him. "Sail On" is a gem of a song. "Stuck On You" and "Endless Love" are pretty good too.
