Dude, I am honestly happy for you that you still enjoy Prince's current music! I am just stating things as I feel them. And let's face it, some of you Prince Org Positivo's keep repeating your positive mantras ad nauseum just as much.

I wish I could still get into Prince and his music as I was able to in the past, but it just isn't happening anymore. Of course there still is some interest left, he is one of my favorite artists after all, but yeah, my interest is seriously waning at the moment.

Could be my fault for not being "open minded" or "appreciative" enough, but it might also have to do with Prince not really delivering the goods anymore.

nod It's also important to remember that some fans, like myself, are here mainly for the discussion of old albums and songs. If there is a thread about Dirty Mind,1999 or Lovesexy,I'll be all over it lol It doesn't make me less of a fan just because I'm not thrilled with the new stuff.

Exactly!

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

And yet y'all are on a thread about 2013 not 1982. Also I'm not denying or downplaying your fan status. If anything I'm stating that despite whatever the "all time low" is or "how little you care" that you're still here commenting on current works and speculating on future works. Enjoy them or hate them you're still here. Rationalize however you want with whatever era you claim to love most you're still here and all of the excuses as to why fall flat because you're still here. You're not going anywhere despite the 'waning interest' or 'not being thrilled'. There will never be a rock bottom for fans like you. Every other month there's a thread about Prince shrinking fanbase but how is his fanbase shrinking when you have people who still clock you for two decades claiming 'no interest'. That's a solid fanbase when you have people who can't bear to stop following you despite not being satisfied with your output.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

er

This just goes to show how addictive Prince's music is! Once you've heared it, there is no turning back. You can withstand year after year after decade of boring albums with the occasional good track on it because all you have to do is put on 1999/Parade/name your own and you remember why you became a fan in the first place. And as long as the man lives, there's still a chance that he will release something fantastic.
And yes, the org is addictive too and it is a bit like the so-called "social media". What's wrong with that?

i do think that a fair number on this site are very hard on prince...the guy has released probably more great and innovative music that almost anyone alive...he is still a superb live act and a musician very few can equal....how much great music can one person have inside them ?...yes his music isnt as good but very few acts continue to make great music throughout a long career....

does stevie wonder or bowie get the flack that prince gets from his fans ?...i doubt it very much...stevie is seen as a music great regardless of what he releases now....the same with bowie.. (and yes bowie has released his fair share of bad music and his new album is good in parts but not as great as its made out)..i still think prince releases good music but not as much as his heyday in the 80s but thats to be expected...

if we are talking about him being a control freak in everything he does then that just seems to be part of his character..he has always been the same and i dont see it changing any time soon...it certainly causes frustration with his fans but was part of what gave him the drive to become huge in the 80s..

i am just thankful he is still with us...his music has meant a great deal to me and still continues to mean a lot to me..his back catalogue really is something to behold..you could spend days listening to it and who knows what else he has locked in the vault ...

i am looking forward to the new album...do i expect it to be great ?...no...but i do expect to hear something on it that i will love...

I couldn't agree more. Everyone should count their P blessings and stop expecting him to be what he once was or what they dream he should be.

I've got a FB page and every orger I consider a friend is a friend on there. If people kept their socializing to org notes then that's cool. Too often it runs into threads which defeats the purpose of this site.

As for the first part of your statement I agree with you 100%. It gets tedious reading orgers trying to explain why they're still around after 15 years with a bunch of crap excuses when they're just hooked and can't admit it. At least those of us who enjoy the music still are here for just that, the music.

W.r.t. Prince I am a realist:

I believe it when I have it in my sweaty hands.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

You are a bit too optimistic.

People, even when they do not `have lives`, tend to grow older, be somewhat less enthousiastic, a bit more critical, etc.

If it's 3rdeyegirl "featuring" Prince, not especially optimistic. I'll probably still support it. err

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

WTF are you going on about, dude? What is your problem with people stating that they don't like new Prince music, or are not as excited anymore about new Prince music cuz of the steady pile of shit music (with the occasional gem) Prince has released in the last two decades?

As I understand you we should fuck off from Prince.org??? What kind of reasoning is that??? All people (except a few trolls maybe) here are Prince fans. And that's why we come here. Also because it is a fun website, with all the subforums and people that I've got to know during my years here. I don't understand what excatly you are trying to tell us oldschool 80/90's fans. Aren't we allowed to follow Prince anymore in hope that maybe he will make a good record again?

Your attitude sucks, I'll tel you that!
