something is different this time

Im not.sure how to explain it. The last time i felt this way was when i saw him on the AMAs in 94.
Something is majorly different about Prince right now, and im excited about it.
Is anyone else getting the same feeling? Its not the typical change in prince from era to era. It seems a lot deeper this time.

It's simple, Prince is getting his inspiration from the new band, resulting in a Prince that now has something to prove again, and he is absolutely proving it. He is filled with a renewed energy, and I do believe we are in for a very interesting creative chapter in his career.

You know what changed ?

This : (Prince smiled,); “They are like my kids,” he said. “And I’m learning from them. Young people have the new ideas..."

He's never ever allowed anyone in his creativity. Not even admitted it so publicly.

But don't be fooled though, people don't change basically IMHO. From what I've understood, the new 3rdEyeGirl album will have 1 song written by Donna Grantis (Plectrum Electrum), and/but rearranged by Prince... As we all know by now.

But these girls might get him into new directions.
But Prince will be Prince I'm sure. wink

And another thing.

Why do people quote his [UNRECORDED] interviews like he actually means a damned thing he says? Chemtrails, Burqas, etc.---no a single thing Prince has said over the last 20 years of interviews has ever given us much insight into his genius.

He refuses to answer deeply personal questions directly--fine fine. But, he even evades questions about his craft and starts doing goblety-guk God-speak and other such nonsense. His last interview was just like any other interview that he's given---it revealed NOTHING, tells us almost NOTHING about forthcoming music, and has completely confirmed that NOTHING has changed.

seriously, if it were a wig - why would he have borrowed one from Lauryn Hill?

well, at least he didn't borrow clown make-up from her

We all know that since 27 years!!!, since the split up of The Revolution (and they only lasted nearly 3 years - out of a 35 year career!), he kept even more in charge of everything.
And the same goes for Eric Leeds, Sheila, Levi etc.
They all had their 15min of heavily controlled fame, sort to speak.

You know, he's mentioned this very open and in public, that's true and new to me.
I still don't believe him for what it's worth.
Nevertheless we have to give the guy credit for whatever might, could happen.
