He's just now playing where I am. First thing I thought as the camera found him was, "Okay, now he's doing this blindfolded." Always knew he could. Bambi...kick ass as always. There is no 3rdEyeGirl, there is only Prince. "I'm your driver, you're my screw" makes me want to gouge my ears out.

Just now into Bambi where I am. I like this much better than Screwdriver. He looks amazing!!! But poor Jimmy couldn't even talk. lol

I liked it well enough. "Screwdriver" was a little sloppy, the band definitely could have been more together, but I thought that "Bambi" was great. Vocally he definitely seems to have lost a little but that is to be expected at his age. I can't complain because I would much rather hear Prince sing than Shelby, Elisa and Liv.

He has had a fairly big band for many years. I'm quite excited to hear what he can do with a much more basic band and I hope he does a full tour with no horns and limited use of keyboards.

I don't know how Kirk Douglas kept it together and restrained himself from whooping Prince's ass after Prince tossed Kirk's guitar that he borrowed to play Bambi. Legendary musician or some punk upstart, I thought that it was shitty to destroy another guitarists' gear, not knowing what value the instrument it holds to the person.

3rd Eye Girl backed him up well on "Bambi". Donna redeemed herself and jammed hard.

One of my students has that same haircut...
She told me her Dad keeps it shaved and shaped up for her.
I saw a few kids in the hallway with it, too...
Seems to be in right now.

Two solid and satisfying performances. Thick rock sounds, but not over done visually. Good stuff. Although, Prince is really starting to come across as an old man now. He seems comfortable in his "elder statesman of rock" role. And I'm comfortable with that too. Funky. I guess I'm just glad they didn't perform "Lame Out Loud"!

I'm over this 3rd eye girl band. I'm just gonna come out and say it...they suck. That's right I said it third eye girl sucks. bringiton Anyways Screwdriver was lousy. Bambi was better. Lastly, I'm just going to say that all I ask is that Prince ditch these girls and release an album. PLEASE. I dont give a flying fuck about ida donna and hannah all I want is a Prince album!! Just Prince.

Well he is very talented, but I think you'll agree that not even he can pull off playing all instruments live. I dont understand your reasoning behind shitting on this band already, we only have 2 rehearsal clips, these 2 songs, and then whoever attended the Dakota night3 got a longer rehearsal too. Ida has been touring with him since 2010 and is a great bassplayer, the others I can't make judgement just yet. Remember there are the other players too Gouche, RBJ, Cass O'neal, the horns. I think Prince will be playing different shows with different bands this year, it wont be long before we'll find out.

If your talking about LOL, I agree with you I prefer other songs. The new music is there we're getting some through the site, some has been played live and some previewed by DJ Rashida. We would all like an album - considering it's been 3 years, I'm not going to sweat if it's days, weeks or months till new music is released. In the end we're all got other shit to do in life. highfive

Personally, I had quite a bit of trepidation about how the Fallon appearance was going to go down, in the end the performance was really good.

....and how about that, an almost normal marketing campaign, perform songs that can be bought from his site, and announce tour starting in April in the market where he's getting this exposure.

It is a positive direction, hopefully good times keep rollin' music

Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.

pfffft are you kidding me? This cracks me up, oh Prince broke the guy's guitar.

If Prince ever played on MY instrument I'd be like: Prince rocked my shit & broke it!

^I'm as big a Prince fan as any, but if he ever did that to any of my instruments without asking, I'd tell him where to go. Legend or not, great performance or not (which it was), smashing someone else's instrument is never called for. But hey, we really don't know the circumstances. Maybe it was all planned, or he bet Prince to do it, maybe Prince warned him he'd do it but he still gave him the guitar anyway, maybe in that split second he just forgot he had someone else's guitar etc... We really don't know. But I wouldn't put it beyond Prince to do it purely as a smartass.

Any musician who cares more about a guitar than the moment of a lifetime when a legend shreds his instrument on TV in front of the world.......please! Repair work? I'd have it framed the way it is.

Bambi was good, but screwdriver is just cringeworthy, it seriously is one of those middle aged crisis songs... His vocals werent the best either, but hopefully he'll work on it... He looked good though! cool... But I'm tired of the half shaved look on girls, it's been played out since Cassie & Rihanna both had it. (They didn't start that tredn though, comes from the punkers ;D )

Yeah, but it is interesting how he manages to always throw his own guitars to a stagehand. You won't see Prince smashing his Hohner. Really not cool...unless it was planned. And if it was planned, he could have at least autographed the guitar he just destroyed. I'm just saying.

On another note, I didn't like this performance and I'm not a fan of this band. Bambi was tolerable, but Screwdriver sounded like a garage band to me. And I get the whole raw, underproduced effort, but he was better at being raw and underproduced in the early 80s. And I'm a proponent of the mature Prince. I don't think he needs to revisit those days to make me happy. But this 3rd Eye Girl kick that he's on just makes me cringe. I hope he gets over this phase soon.

I wud have a dvr if my girlfriend hadn't insisted on keeping her direct tv when I moved in with her. Can't upgrade and she has the cheapest receivers u can get....not even HD capable.....I'm pissed and filing for a trial separation.
