Because he needs a professional marketing/publicity team. Not just his band mates making announcements on their fb pages and such. Sure, that's cool for some of us, the continuous online Prince fans that use the org but the rest of the world...?

I think this is true to a point; he will need a professional team at some point. But I just watched this vid, and was kinda taken aback at the whole vibe; a 50-something yr old Prince banging out a hellafied riff and these young white musicians walking around Paisley Park like they were strolling through a grocery store. I think the article makes a good point; Prince has found some new spark of creativity, and I think he wants to slowly build on these singular moments, and when he feels there's enough curiosity out there, he'll just drop whatever he's going to drop. I haven't been this interested in what he's doing musically since TRC.

It may have already been pointed out here but has anyone else noticed the 3 girls hair/clothes in this video? Looks the exact same as in the 1st video snippet of Screwdriver & Bambi we saw last month. (the b&w ones with Prince wearing a hood)

Weird. Although the website name is not that big a deal, using the easiest possible name is always the logically intelligent idea, and Prince is the type to make it difficult. I am shocked you don't have to click the right spot on some Jellyfish nuts or something.

Of course, if he had any brains he'd have a website with a simple to remember name that he could use over and over again year after year. But I guess it's "funkier" to promote three different URLs in a month, neither of them much good.

If that was the case he wouldn't be releasing songs that sound like they're reworkings of other songs he's done before. Even this whole "Screwdriver Live" video thing seems to be a retread of "The Undertaker" video.

I agree with this.

It's really damned near impossible for someone like Prince to just throw out strange, nonsensical URLs out for people to follow if his intention is to get the music out there to the general population.

lotusflow3r made absolutley no sense, (I'm not even going to get into the attrocious signup and navigation of that insanely idiotic FLASH site), because it was tied to an album's name and would be forgotten. I mean, had he registered purplerain.com, that might be a different thing, but lotusflow3r?

And the new ones are even worse. prince2013 is obviously temperary, and I suspect thirdeyegirl or whatever it is.

It's really just insane.
