Sorry to be anal about the painting on the guitar, but when they make the final version, I suggest they makes some adjustments and place the butterfly on top. It will look better that way.

Just imagine the picture of P playing this guitar then.

When the butterfly is painted a little bit higher on the body of the guitar,

the butterfly her core body will be lying behind the strings.

Her wings will be spreading, fully following the form of the tips of the guitar.

Can you draw that picture in your head?

the neck of the guitar suits in the spreaded wings of the butterfly, and when P pulls the strings, he'll be playing the body of the butterfly with his fingers........

I dig that image.

I think the image is cool, but I've seen many drawings, photos and images

of butterflies, but I just can't see it here. When I look at it, I see a pair of funky-looking

lips with a tongue sticking out with saliva, use your imagination

and you can see the same thing.

geek

And I also see a distorted drawing of Andy on the top of the guitar, it's the photo of her on the

People Pleaser cover, the one with her covering her mouth. If you don't

believe compare the pattern on her shirt... razz see the fro, eyes and pattern.

---Peace!!

It might be a wishful creative interpretation on my part, but I see a butterfly.

The very sexy suggestive lips are the butterfly wings and the golden thingy in the middle the butterfly body. And the strings are the feelers. Allthough there are more strings than a butterfly has feelers.......

I had not recognized Andy her pic, but I agree that it doesn't do justice to her good looks.

I think the guitar is nice, but with a little adjustment here and there, it will look fantastic.

I really spend to much time in the graph design of his guitar. Should have been busy with cleaning, decorating and fixing my own house. To much org as avoidance of my own tasks. duh

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Not a big fan of this look. It's almost as bad as that checkered rug he wore singing Elephants & Flowers in Graffiti Bridge, or the plaid flannel from The Morning Papers. Hopefully the yellow stretch pants sleep mask ensemble is soon forgotten. Fashion faux pas Prince can't pull off smile

I don't care about the look one way or the other but the music sounds promising. I wouldn't be surprised if he hits us with a double album or 2 seperate releases since its been so long.

Loved the rehearsal snippet; was not so sure about the studio version.

I'm afraid that there is a danger of the studio version being a bit too "watered down" for that sort of track. The riff is simple, the melody is simple, so what's left if the song is produced in a modern pop song way (lower the guitars in the mix, make the beat sound tight and make the vocals as clear sounding as possible)? Not much, I'm afraid.

If he recorded it with that rehearsal band in one take, live in the studio, with the guitars, bass and drums loud in the mix and his vocals buried somewhere in there, there would be so much sonic space for each instrument, it would be pumpin', sort of like the early Van Halen stuff, which just powered on, somehow.

I can understand that the times have changed and that it would be suicide to record something the way The Undertaker was done (although we love it, of course), but all I'm saying is that a song like this, with the strength lying in the power and delivery, needs a powerful, dirty version on-record. Not a watered down, radio-friendly RnR Affair style version, but a sheer, straight-forward rock version. The thing is, that would probably be even more "accessible" to most listeners, because, let's be honest, stone cold rock and roll with loud guitars is something people will always "get", whereas I'm not so sure about the mellow rock sound I gathered from the short studio version.

What's the difference between this and stuff on Chaos and Disorder?

I mean, so many of you folks derided that as crap, but I'm seeing praise for this track all over the Internet right now.

For the record, I really like Chaos and Disorder, but the small snippet I'm hearing here is no different that what was on that.

I can't speak for others obviously but I love Chaos and Disorder...for the most part anyhow. I def love all the rock sections and blues rock parts on there.

Hey Dave. I understand what you're saying, but I prefer the drums in the studio clip over the drums in the rehearsal. The snare is mixed louder and is more present, more powerful in the studio clip.

Another thing is that Prince has ALWAYS been all about "beating" the recorded versions of songs when played live. Amazingly, he uses two sides of himself to compete with each other, thereby having acheived true greatness as both a recording artist and as a live performer.

Also, I'd just like to point out that live versions don't always "win"... Two excellent recent examples:

"Dreamer"

"Wall of Berlin"

These absolutely ROCKED on the 'Lotusflower' album.
