Mine: the Denver concert on the Lovesexy tour, just because I was there.
+1 on The Second Coming movie. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

PrinceVault has some conflicting information on this one:
"[...]30 seconds of the 20-minute track Junk Music can be heard in Under The Cherry Moon, in a scene where Tricky and Christopher Tracy are arguing."
and
"30 seconds of the track was included as background music on Under The Cherry Moon, in the scene where Christopher Tracy races against Mary Sharon on the horse race track."
Anyone knows which scene it is? The wooh is on the one!

I always thought it was the race track scene.

Someone will volunteer the extended remix of "Hey Hannigan" before this thread expires. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

First of all, it's well-known that I am "Mr. Hey Hannigan". But even I have tired of that joke!
BTW, did anyone save the "Hey Hannigan" audio file from back in the day? That was pure genius.
What I'd really like to see are the videos of the two times my daughter sang with Prince during the Musicology tours.

Full versions of the sample gems circulating from a few years ago:
Cosmic Day Everybody Want What They Don't Got Hard to Get ('81 version) Adonis and Bathsheba Big House Traffic Jam
Also: Wednesday Wally (although the original was destroyed, would still be curious to hear the remake). Most of what was mooted for CB II
Also I agree with Digi Gardener about 'The Flesh' sessions... [Edited 10/8/12 10:45am]

Cosmic is still what I am looking for, but most importantly I wanna get hold of those pro-shot sex tapes in his vault, that are not circulating yet. Those must be gems. Prince I will always miss and love U.

'THE FLESH ALBUM', deffinately !
But also, the demo's of the whole 'Purple Rain' album. Especially the studio recordings of the live songs used on the album :
I'm sure he has some studio recordings of these, as i read somewhere, he mixed the live recordings with them (somehow apparently) ...
In fact I'm interested in demo's he made for all his early works until 1991. Most 'unfinished' songs circulating are somewhat demos, but often in a really bad quality, or a second or third or another recording, intended to add more instruments and ideas to them...
I'd also like the hear the first proposals Prince made to Tim Burton for the 'Batman' movie, the uncut, raw first versions... Simply cause this is right after the 'Lovesexy' era, an area I truely love.

I'm talking about the 'Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic' album with this exact list :
"rave unto the joy fantastic" "if eye had a harem" "good judy girlfriend" "pink cashmere" "electic chair" "am I without U" "god is alive" "still would stand all time" "moonbeam levels"

Without a doubt, The Flesh thing. Both the finished album and the complete 'jams' that led to it.
Being a sucker for vintage studio Prince, I'd add ANY studio song I have never heard. Even if they're not good.

I agree The Flesh prosject is of great interest. But perhaps mainly as a historical document. I'm not sure the album, and certainly not the "jams", could offer much musically that wasn't suggested by the Family instrumentals and topped by the Madhouse albums. Also Prince played mostly drums on the Flesh-sessions, but perhaps his somewhat limited involvement is a plus to some of you guys? [Edited 10/9/12 11:30am] The wooh is on the one!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
^And what are those assertions based on?
FYI: Prince played drums on some of the sessions but not 'mostly' in the overall project.

Well, you assumed quite a few things in your post:
-that the outcome of those sessions was 'topped' by the Madhouse albums -that he played 'mostly' drums on those sessions -that his involvement in the sessions was 'somewhat limited'.
So I'll ask again: is there anything backing your assumptions?

Interesting that quite a few people would like to hear The Flesh sessions. I thought I would be among the minority with that choice.
