At this point of life, Prince is surely in peace and in harmony with himself, and the fact that he's melted..

To accept oneself, doesn't mean that he needs to choose either his "afro" side or his "latino" or even his "european" side, for, he definetely is, a melted one, he's all in One, One in all.

One who hasn't an Afro part might see Prince's afro hair style in a weird and strange way.

because one needs to identify oneself and one needs to look the other to accept that one.

One who is Afro will be proud because he or she might feel supported and close to Prince.

One needs to see a difference to put the aim onto it, always a matter of judging the other facing one, Most of human beings point at the difference, whetehr it attracts, whether it repulse..

With no difference, one feels at ease it's like a wellknown field where there isn't any danger zone..

What if, his Afro style was nowadays to support Andy's,

What if, he's got trouble with his scalp with all those dyes, hair straighteners, conditioners...etc

Then, perhaps, his hair needs to be loose and natural to recover and to gain in strength?

The color of the skin, what is the matter? he isn't dark, neither clear, pink, black or whatever..

Whether we say we like his make up, his tanned skin,( if he was), his beard or not..this is not the point..

Whatever the style, We like his Music, and still we'll stay, I WILL

LOL I noticed that too

I wish there was a way within a topic we could split it off and move it in a different forum or split the changed conversation parts into 'the new topic'

It is weird, all it takes sometimes is a conversation say about Prince's wives and it could turn into a discussion about marriage age limits or marriage customes throught the world, and sometimes those veered off discussion everyone is tame and getting alone too lol

Really, the process just mirrors real-life conversations, doesn't it...but those don't have to be categorized. wink lol

yes that is true, and most of the time in 'real time' you don't easily get misunderstood and people read stuff into your words. Especially when people know you, they usually know your intentions.

My dad my 2 brothers and I will get together and these erratic conversation happen, 1 subject and everyone picks their battle, sometimes it's 2 against 2 or 1 against 3 as then it goes from that subject to another and teams switch. I remember that happened one day at my parents house and we had already hit 5 topics I had to leave to pick up something and when I came back I asked what the topic was and jumped back in lol non accusatory not judgmental

oh (so we are still on topic) Yeah I love me some Am I Black or White... Prince ...Melted as

Yeah, the problem with the internet is that you miss the context and "signals" in face-to-face conversation that is missing when you just type words... Limitations of the WWW. LOL

BTW: If you are referring to the MJ song "Black or White"--great song. My friend and I heard "Man In The Mirror" on the radio the other day right after "Black or White" and had quite a long conversation about these two songs we hadn't heard in a long time---and the issues they both bring up...

I'll admit that I don't know the rules of what should and should not be moved to P and R, but every comment here has been in response to the notion of how and why various groups perceive Prince in the manner that they do. So from that notion, I think that the comments have been on topic, but maybe because I tend to contextualize everything in a socio-political frame, especially the art that I love and discuss, I have more latitude for my artistic discussion. But, again, like I said, I don't know the rules for what should and should not be moved to P and R.

No! My friend who is dark-skinned was saying he looked Albino when he was wearing yellow on the view! eek I told her that despite the false promo during the Purple Rain movie that both his parents are Black but very light-skinned... Sad that skin-shade is still such a touchy issue in 2012... confused

lol now that u think of it...

i remember some interview with prince like Controversy 1999 period and he was talking about his mother and said that she was actually 1/2 black 1/2 italian

yes. but its getting better in many ways. I used too jump when i saw a blue black man kissing in blond blue eyed woman on prime time tv because 20yrs ago in america u didnt see that.

I still like the comment prince made in an interview pre LotusFlower where the would said '...being a black artist...' and prince stopped her pulled his arm next hers and said 'am i?' and she said that she was darker than he was

Actually, you do give a fuck because if you didn't you wouldn't have posted. For instance, I read threads that don't interest me all the time so I don't respond or reply to them. That's what you do when something doesn't interest you. You ignore it. So, all I can say is "Only confused men wear loafers or reply to threads about which they claim not to care...You aren't confused are you?"

Apparently my message was lost on you. I didn't say I give or not give a fu*k about this thread. I gave my answer to the Ops question. The gist being; I don't put deeper meaning into personal choices that other people make that don't concern me personally, you dig? (Note where the needle is on the chart.) Not to mention some of the ridiculous claims and adjectives used to describe Prince and his motivation or thoughts are reckless at best.

It was a humorous, although brass response to the question slash idea that Spiritotter brought up.

For the record: I ignore threads a lot and I don't ever feel the real need to correct or change anyone's opinion.

Like 1725topp has eloquently pointed out to you, kewlschool, it appears that you do care.

At the very least, it seems that you actually care about the plight of our boy, Prince.

Interestingly, do you think Prince has always cared about being considered ridiculous or reckless?

On a different, but related, note, do you think you might possibly be in denial when you say that you don't give a .... , kewlschool?

cue the music: CONTROVERSY ... "Am I black or white? Am I straight or gay?"

Prince clearly cares, too, as do I, as I am sure, too, does 1725topp.

We wouldn't be here, otherwise.

What do you honestly care about, kewlschool?

love,

Yeah, but you're still talking. If you really meant any of what you typed above, you wouldn't have felt the need to provide the meter or respond to me. Are you sure "you aren't confused..."?
