Great we're getting another free jam!

I understand this is a rehearsal jam etc and is crazy funky which is most important. But to be a tad awkward, it lacks a bit of the oomph. Put the Crystal Ball live version on and proceed to destroy your speakers, this version, granted it's a rehearsal, feels like Days Of Wild lite....and i don't mean the censorship, i prefer it clean, i mean musically.

I didn't see it live at the shows nor seen any footage so i don't know the final product, but as is, it doesn't feel like Days Of Wild, more another (albeit great) funk jam.

It definitely gets better as it goes on, but it doesn't have the dynamic energy and housequaking base of the '95 version.

I know he probably could do that if he wanted to though because i've heard many recent boots of other funky trax sounding insane.

Excellent take on what I consider a 90's classic.

If he ain't gonna tear shit up on this song like it's supposed to be torn up, why bother????!!!!

And he REALLY needs to get rid of those girls. It all just sounds like they're a Prince cover band. disbelief

Did I just hear Prince curse at the 2:15 mark? "hooker, bitch and ho'/I don't think so". Maybe he has loosensed his stance on swearing, which perplexes me because throughout the jam he self-censors himself.

It also sounds like Bootsy Collins guested on bass. Listen to the bass line and think of "Up For The Down Stroke" and "Mothership Connection".

This is getting a bit tired, and fast...

These rehearsal recordings sound very dry, like right from the board, and I'd rather have actual live recordings from a gig with some ambiance and audience sound.

Of course, I mostly just want new music... as in a new studio album.

But hey... that's just me.

It was OK. A little "thin" sounding. There's no bottom end anchoring this jam.

Am I the only one that thinks that 'Days of Wild' suffers the most among most of Prince's songs when it's stripped of the curse words? This song needs the curse words more than others for some reason. There's no rawness or anger to it anymore hearing it this way.

edit:

Give us One more jam. One more jam. One more jam. One more jam from Prince and the band put them on cd and who needs a new studio album. This'll do me.

And now.....attack!

Y'know...I was going to say it sounded flat.

Like on Seinfeld, when Elaine's latest squeeze Tony replies (to a bowling invitation), "I don't think so George. You get no rush from bowling."

This cut is kinda like bowling, I'm afraid. Fun...but no juice.

No, you're not the only one. It a lot better after everyone shut up and they just jammed.
