In General, how big are the audiences attending Prince shows now?

1. How big are the audiences attending his shows now? I don't mean capacity of the venues, but actual people showing up.

2. Is this different per country?

The reason why I'm asking is that I've been watching his taped performances at verious shows over the last few years, and there appear to be alot of empty seats, etc. The performances are pretty good, but the stadiums don't seem as be large arenas anymore.

How about compared to the radius of their waist vs back in the day...

Irelands Population = 4,500,000

Attended Prince in Malahide Ireland = 35,000

So that means close to 1% of Ireland went to Prince in 2011

So If he played England he should get an attendance of 500,000 at one gig and in the USA 3,000,000 should turn out.

I hope this helps.....but I doubt it biggrin

I saw some very overweight people at his concert last night. He attracts a lot of the "middle aged who've let themselves go a bit". Which is prob how Prince would be right now... If he weren't Prince, that is
pray Peace in the House of Prince.

Not packing the arena all the time doesn't necessarily mean failure. I think even 80% full for someone still in the game that long and no in the mainstream anymore is good.

It seems to be that he is still able to pack them in and I agree it doesn't mean that some seats aren't going to be empty. Maybe people bought seats & things came up or they are on the floor dancing near the stage.

OK.

So, since he's more or less been using the same tired ass stage set for the last 10 years, I'm assuming he's making a killing at some of these shows.

I'm guessing at the end of it all, he's probably going to be richer than Madonna or Springsteen if he plays his cards right. I mean, the guy can perform his ass off still, even weighed down by all those big wigs and pounds of makeup.

I'd say the average height of the males is 5'11" and the average female is 5'5".

It doesn’t even mean the show didn’t sell well. Scalpers still buy up huge blocks of Prince tickets and overestimate what they can charge. I went to one of the W2A shows in NYC; it was sold out but the arena was half empty because scalpers had bought so many tickets and set their prices too high.

While I agree about the scalpers, none of the NYC W2A shows were ever half empty. Maybe during the opening acts, but the shows at Madison Square Garden were pretty much packed.

chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

I would say about 165 to 180 cm tall as most Prince fans are middle aged, or late early adulthood (30 -50) as concerts are so expensive now, I would assume most are at least upper working and middle class. I would say at this age quite a few would be overweight. So guessing about 90kg and 5 foot 10 tall

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Well when Prince and Lady GAGA where touring in Europe at the same time. Prince had less empty seats then she did. And Lady GAGA was the IN/Popular artist at the time.

When I saw Prince in Victoria BC it was full/sold out. In Tacoma Wa about 80% full. The only thing left was severe nose bleed seats. I'm told that the last time Springsteen played the same space it was 60% full.

And the people size range from normal to huge.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Still can't get over the fact that dude announced a date for Columbia, SC last year.. tickets went on sale a couple days later on a Friday and the concert itself was another couple days later on a Monday or Tuesday, and the place was still fairly packed--from the bottom up to the upper bleacher seats.

I was impressed. He does well.
