Just watched the infamous concert from 1983 called 'James Brown and BB King - Legends in Concert' on Lovefilm. Interestingly, the MJ mini-performance is still there but the Prince segment has been edited out! Was it that bad or did Prince and /or his management request that it be deleted?

My mom has the B.B./James concert on videocassette and bought it at the time it was released. I wasn't aware Prince had anyting to do with it until Youtube.

I read a long time ago that James hated what Prince did, and pretty much didn't like Prince in general, so James' people removed that part from the concert.

The footage has been circulating on YouTube for YEARS. I've seen it a billion times, it definitely happened.

That's obviously the original footage, the way it happened. We all know the Prince part was photoshopped in there afterwards, as the three of them never shared a stage at the same time!

The whole thing itself looks like an SNL or MAD TV skit.

I've never known James Brown guitarists to have/use distortion...but, if Prince had access to a distortion pedal, he would have killed it. He wasn't working with much, I'm afraid. He did get to show off a little of his rhythm chops... but, as a fan, there's a feeling that a screaming solo would have bought the place down.

If memory serves correctly it was actually a left hander, in which case he did pretty damm well to get any sound at all.

i just saw a movie and they put captain america, thor, and the incredible hulk all in the SAME MOVIE!

now if they can do that, they can obvioulsy add prince into a video with james brown and michael jackson. they could probably stick madonna in too, wearing a catsuit. plus a dude with a bow and arrow. it would probably look like utter shite though and no-one would believe it
