^^ I'm sure I've seen 1988 set lists where Le Grind & Cindy C occassionally appeared in the first half of the Euro LS show.. Check the Wembly dates

Possible.

we could say possible to almost anything

Le Grind & Cindy C were never performed during the main shows or after shows

Blues in C but no Cindy C

checked all dates, esp the Wembly dates

Dead on it was performed on the Diamonds and Pearls tour, well bits of it anyway.

Yeah, and he did it in aftershows during the "Lovesexy" tour, too.

I see no set list where Dead On It (Black album) was done in any aftershows

Dance On was in the main shows, but it wasn't really the song just Sheila E drumming that turned into a full drum solo

Positivity was played live at some Lovesexy aftershows and can also be heard live on the Lovesexy rehearsals. Not sure if it was ever done at a main show, maybe at the beginning of the tour when he was doing the 80's medley.

It was the closing song in the first Milan show(s)

i'm gonna answer a few in this thread

solo was done during the paris show in 1994

dance on was done during the rehearsals for the lovesexy tour with complete lyrics

the list is LONG for songs he's never done live since emancipation so it's safe 2 say 75 percent of songs from emancipation forward have never been performed live which is sad since he likes 2 be stuck in the 80's and one or two songs from the 90's now

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

SHOCKADELICA .. sampler snippit does not count in my book

i would love to hear CONDITION OF THE HEART .. full song .. not as an instrumental interlude

SCREAMS OF PASSION .. did prince ever pull this one out?

not the ball but the CRYSTAL BALL

LAST HEART deserves a better showing than that 1 off after show, which was the worst recording ever

Depends on your definition of "Performed." If you include him mumbling the lyrics with no passion in a half baked medley, he's done a good bit of his catalog. If you only include songs done properly with Prince himself on lead vocals, and singing all of the lyrics, the list becomes much smaller. Let's Go Crazy is hardly ever done in full, which is funny, since it doesn't have that many lyrics to begin with. This is a very similar post to one done a few days ago, so cross-posting by me should be ok...but my previous post said it pretty good:

If you consider that many of the songs he has performed have only been bits and pieces of the actual song, there's a ton of songs. Let's Go Crazy has been "performed," but he hardly ever sings all the lyrics, and that's silly, since there aren't even that many lyrics in the damn song to begin with. From 1987 to 2004, it was almost always sung with the ridiculous "Go Go Go" chant. Oddly, the only time the song even sounded close to proper was for a few shows on the weak Jam of The Year Tour, as it was played fairly well at the shows I went to in Atlanta, New Orleans and Tampa in 1998.

A Million Days is another. I heard him play it on the Musicology tour in the acoustic set in Bosier City, Louisiana, but it was incomplete. On the Toronto Welcome 2 America/Canada Tour, he mumbles the lyrics he does sing with very little passion, so I still count this song as not having been properly played.

Computer Blue was played ok at a New Power Soul show in Dec 1998, but I'd love to have that song back. I can't understand why he will play some songs with great passion, but go through the motions on other songs. Mountains sounded pretty good last year in Charlotte, but he wasn't really singing on it. Shelby & the girls were much louder. Shh has been mostly near perfect, but after Musicology it has kind of been hit and miss, but he usually still kills the guitar solo.

Purple Rain is almost always great, though from 1987-2000 it was usually the first verse, one chorus, and right into the guitar solo.

When Doves Cry was butchered most of the time, but it was pretty good on the bad 1997-98 tour when he actually played it.

If I Was Your Girlfriend has sounded damn good to me in various incarnations. I don't think he ever fucked that one up. It sounded good on SOTT, Jam Of The Year, 3121 Las Vegas, and was one of the big bright spots on Welcome 2 America. In fact, Welcome 2 America would've been much better if Prince sang more, and quit giving Shelby so much time. When you pay to see Prince, and the show is less than 2 hours, you don't want somebody else singing too much, and I've probably made 4,000 posts about how Shelby's "Put Your Hands Up" chant got annoying after the 125th time during a 110 minute show.

LOL! I definitely do not mean those! I've been at a few shows where he's done that with some of my favorite songs and found myself wishing he'd not even bothered. Your Org name got me wondering and I don't see it listed, has he ever performed Still Waiting live?

I know he released Rebirth of The Flesh, but that was not done live in front of a crowd. It was a rehersal he released. He never actually performed it LIVE in any of his setlists! sad

I want to hear that LIVE! smile

Joy In Repetition has been performed many times since about 2000, in main shows and aftershows too. Sometimes even pretty faithfully too! Loose, Papa and Dark were all performed in some Act II aftershows and then through 1994 and into 1995. And I think Shy was done in one of the Paisley / Glam Slam shows around 1995. And how about Tick Tick Bang - can't recall that being sung live?

I know he performed "Joy In Repetition" at the Fillmore in San Francisco. I was there and it was amazing!

There must be a reason why...
I don't know.
