I just hope that he lets them keep going as a group if that's what they want to do, and not force them to become RevDeluxe or whatever. It's his choice as to whether he wants to participate, but it would just be mean to keep exercising his veto power over what his (former?) friends do. I also hope that if he wants to get together with them someday, he doesn't wait until it is no longer possible for all the members to reunite.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

well, i don't really feel one thing or another about prince not playing. after all, i am not and was not invooved in organizing the event, and have no idea what went on behind the scenes. i heard prince did show up at the event and on the one hand it's odd he was there and didn't play. on the other hand, maybe he didn't feel like playing, or had another reason why he didn't play. so, to sum up, i support prince's decision to do what he did, when he did or did not do it.

eye like how prince allowed his cloud guitar on stage as if 2 give the illusion that he was going 2 appear. When prince had no intention 2. Its a classic prince move. 2 keep people talking. While planning his next move... prince would have never put that guitar up there if he was coming...

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

I think Prince would have been criticized, whatever he did. Having the guitar there on stage was a bit lame, though.

I have been watching some of the YouTube videos from the show and it looks like the Revolution killed it! If Prince had been there, those YouTube videos probably would have already been taken down, so that's one positive of him not playing.

The Revolution is filled with great musicians and they showed they can put on a great show without Prince. For confirmation on that, read QuestLove's tweets on it (He is the Roots drummer and was DJing that night). Sounds like he was blown away.

Here's hoping the Revolution will do another reunion show(s) closer to where I live!

He never said he was coming so how can you be mad @ him? They should have been honest & said he wasn't coming. Seems like an attempt to sell more tickets to me. As far as him and Mark not getting along didn't he call him and Bobby up on stage on some bootleg to play. He subbed Bobby out because he did not hear Prince's instructions but Mark played well. These guys playing these songs on a continuous basis is like the Time trying to play without Morris......pointless.

lol, You're making all those accusations and you don't even know the show you're referencing.

In case this situation is not familiar to you, the Revolution sang lead on songs all the damn time. From singing lead on "1999" to doing "I Wonder U", it was a band. We know in hindsight what Prince's plans were, but at the time it was and everyone knew it as a band. Them continuing to play the songs they played when they were a band is not pointless.

It was specifically FOR a reason. Don't liken them to the Time w/o Morris. Is that even a band that exists? Anyway thats not even a comparable comparison given the fact The Time didn't write any of their songs in any way shape or form. The Revolution did.

The only songs that he even shares writing credits with them are Dirty Mind, Computer Blue, Mountains and Sometimes it snows in April. They could do those & the Dream factory material.

spinlight wendy and lisa obviously have talent. I am just saying that he didnt let them write much. He took them off of the stuff that they did contribute a lot to which became sign of the times, dream factory and crystal ball. I don't even know WHY they would want to be the Revolution again. They can just play their own stuff. Call up Jesse since he just left the Original seven. and tour doing their own stuff.

If Prince were more open to reunions and celebrating his past work instead of denying it, it would make him appear that he's humble and giving, and maybe gain more respect to us and a wider audience. He's really coming across as an ass. mad

I really wanna know the "real" reason why he's holding on the names and songs. Is it just for the money, that when he's ready to cash in, it will be too late!! confused

As I said before....never expect Prince to do the "right" thing...the cool thing lol Don't expect him to remaster his catalog.Don't expect him to give us DVDs and Blu-rays of his classic concerts.Don't expect him to release the amazing songs in his vaults.Don't expect him to reunite with the Revolution. These things would make us too happy and he doesn't want that. He'd rather keep us frustrated and wanting...lol...

What is the purpose of freedom if he can't do as he pleases with his music. He fired the revolution so why would he want to play with them again? They only practiced for 2 days they don't take them selves seriously why should he? St Paul was inpatient and rolled out so why should he get to use the Family name? Morris rolled out then came back and now they want to write their own stuff fine but why should they get to use the Time name? This is a business. Why would Eye put out more stuff to B bootlegged and shared all over the web?

What do you mean The Revolution "don't take themselves seriously??" Maybe they simply didn't have more time to rehearse. Some of them have families and other obligations, you know rolleyes It was a one-time gig anyway,it's not like they are planning a world tour.

By now everyone knows that P was a No Show at the Rev reunion. I, for one came all the way from Dallas to see the show, and it was one of the greatest shows and weekend of my life. I EXPECTED P to come, just out of respect for the cause, I was not hoping for an outlandish show, just at the least a couple of nice words about the band and maybe a guitar riff.

To me, him not showing up was almost disrespectful for Bobby Z's celebration. I say almost because I dont know what went on behind the scenes. It was about LOVE, something that P always preaches about. And if he wasn't going to preform he could have sent his regards, wrote a letter, sent some carrier pegions, smoke signals or something! I thought it was pretty rude, espically since the fans that were there, are true blue people because we traveled and showed up for the celebration weather or not P was going to be there.

I was disappointed, but maybe I shouldn't expect that much from P anymore, and then again I don't know what was going on behind the scenes. Other than that The concert was Beautiful, I was in tears by the end of the night because of all the love that filled the room. I meet everyone in the band, and went home with the set list that was onstage, partied with my beautiful purple friends, and it was truely a weekend to remember. I had a great time, and I'm still on a Revolution high.

How does everyone else feel about P not showing up?

(I mean even his sister showed up. Im going to call P, "No Show Prince" for now on...well maybe just for the next couple of weeks.)

In fairness, Prince never shown up for the Paisley Park Family Reunion show from a few years earlier, and that was despite the fact that Shelia E was in charge of the whole event.

But having said that, at the end of the day it was always his decision to make. Not ours, nor The Revolution's.

kinda would have taken away some of the specialness if he did show up though wouldnt it? this way the spotlight was on them

I don't agree with this sentiment at all. I think it would have been more exciting for the fans, more exciting for The Revolution members, it would have raised more awareness to the cause (more media attention etc.), and it could have been used as a great way to finally close the chapter on "Prince & The Revolution" on a positive note.

But yeah, at the end of the day, it was his decision to make. None of us really know the full story.
