Alexa de paris-a rarely spoken of classic

This piece of music is astounding..how the hell did a 25 year old from minneapolis write this??

It is such a massive departure from anything done before..where did that whole Parade vibe come from

whom was he channelling??

this is one of the songs/pieces of music that you just kind of sit back and shake your head.

Beautiful.

Besides the song itself, I'm impressed at the production of this. It sounds like it was actually recorded live outside. In a courtyard.

Love when he used live drums.

nod It's one of my most played instrumentals from him!

So genius and CLASSIC!

How could a 25 year old artist come out and lay this down in sheer perfection like this? I wonder the same as you! smile

I would have loved it on the Parade album in general. It's such a masterpiece, the way the guitar talks and makes intercourse with those live drums! SO GOOD! smile

EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS AWESOME!

It's Button Therapy, Baby!

I have said many times that Alexa de Paris is the "sunniest" song Prince ever recorded. It just feels like blue skies and balmy breezes.

A happy man wrote that song.

It should have been a bonus track on the actual album instead.

I always slept on Parade, I didn't get into it when I sampled it years ago, but gave it another shot tonight, and holy shit! It sounds awesome, I think I'll have to get it.

They didn't do that back then. They had B-sides.

YES . This song is pure magic. The musical marriage of Prince and Claire Fischer (r.i.p.) outstanding. One of their greatest triumphs!

I guess I've only heard either extended version or regular version. Can someone please clarify the distinction between them. I excitedly acquired the "extended" version, but it sounded just exactly like the version I was already used to. sad

I know, I wish the real director would have kept the movie

and Prince had band performances in the movie, it would have given a greater attention to the music overall
