I don't think so. I am illuminati as are many of my family who occupy high positions within the order. None of us have seen or heard of any involvement from Prince.
Yes, I am supposed to deny our existence but I'm amongst freinds here right? So don't repeat this. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

He's the Queen of the Night, the title they usually give to one of the higher up priests who carry out all the rituals. Apparently there are photographs of him from around 1990/1 dressed up as Marie Antionette at some sort of sex-magick cerimony.

My dog is apart of the illuminati. No, seriously.

Honestly some of the lyrics I've read in some of his older songs made me wonder about tha too. All the stuff about 'The Dawn', that type of thing...
But even if he were into some kind of Illuminati-type sect or some kind of metaphysical or occult practices back then, I don't think he is now. 비

Hey Prince.
Yes?
Wanna join our top secret group.
What group?
The illuminati.
Sure, sounds good. Is my strong belief in Jesus a problem?
Nah. We loved Dirty Mind so you are cool.
Ok.
Don't tell anyone one though as we are controlling the world.
Wow, thanks for trusting me with these secrets.
It's aight.
YEARS LATER
How's it going Prince?
Um, I want to leave, I'm sick of plotting to rule the world.
Ok dude, don't forget, mum's the word.
Is that how you see it playing out? I mean putting all rationality aside for a moment to assume they actually exist. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

Well if he's truly illuminati he wouldn't have given us clues so carelessly like that in the lyrics would he ??

Keeping You In Line With Shame
I won several formal debates in college using my patented technique of simply repeating my opponent's argument in a high-pitched, mocking tone while wiggling my fingers in the air. There really is no defense. They call this the appeal to rididcule fallacy. To which I would simply rebut, "Oooooh, appeal to ridicule fallacy! Well I've got a 'phallus' you can 'see' right here, college boy." Professionals have more sophisticated methods, but it boils down to the same technique. "They" know that if they can paint an idea as ridiculous, the listener usually won't bother examining it any closer to find out if the ridicule is justified.
Sounds like: "So now they're telling us that--get this, folks--global warming is caused by cows farting! Priceless!" "And then he said we could save gas by inflating our tires! I couldn't make this stuff up, folks!" Why It Works: But why does it work? Well, there are these primitive, lower parts of your brain called amygdalae that controls those base, emotional reactions. That's where things like contempt and shame come from, and stimulating it can completely shut down the analytical part of your brain. The gang calls you a coward and the next thing you know, you're wedging a roman candle between your buttcheeks. You'll show them! You can thank evolution for that. Way back when humans started forming groups and tribes, social status was everything. It's what guaranteed you food, protection and ladies (that is, a chance to pass on your genes). Mockery developed as a "conformity enforcer" to keep people in line. Making a person, idea or behavior the target of mockery gave it a lower social position, and made it clear that anybody who associated with it would share that lower position, leaving them out of the hunting/eating/fucking that made life in the tribe worthwhile. Thousands of years later, a good dose of mockery can shut down critical thinking and make us fall right in line, no questions asked. Recently Seen: The speakers at the Republican National Convention had a great time mocking Barack Obama as a "community organizer," drawing laughter from the crowd and skipping smoothly over the part where they explained what a community organizer is and why it's ridiculous.

Fair enough. You may reasonably find fault with my tactics. I would however ridicule these views one on one so while I may be accused of arrogance I don't accept the claim that it is to fit in. I was an atheist in a religious school system so can hardly be accused of that. So, let's start again. I am genuinely asking to learn how you see a situation where prince is a member of a secret society working. Why do you believe that? Is there any evidence for that belief? How do the illuminati recruit, when (if they exist) they dont have a public face like the Freemasons, also accused of erroneous activity? How do they keep secret? If as you suggest prince was illuminati and left, how, why, there must be lots of people in the same position so are they immune to human nature, none of them having left the order became a whistle blower? Ala other clandestine organizations that are known to exist like the scientoligists. Hey xenu was a top level secret but now we all know about it. I don't know much about the illuminati but if you do, I am sure that you must have asked these questions or come up with viable answers to them. Looking forward to your reply and no more ridicule or copying and pasting someone elses efforts. Deal? [Edited 2/2/12 1:57am] If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

You totallyyyy overestimate your own intelligence.
Which is interesting considering you actually totally missed the point of my last post to begin with.
It's not about peer-pressure, it's about you employing the common, bottom-of-the-barrel tactic of trying to discredit something not with legitimate evidence and a thoughtful response, but strictly through ridicule. Which again, is a very useful tactic if you're dealing with people who aren't too bright and can't think independently and critically. Which is why politicians employ it all the time.
Why you felt the need to volunteer that you're an atheist, I have no idea either as none of my comments were about you specifically or what faith you do or don't practice. In short, it's irrelevant and frankly this isn't about you and I'm not interested in whether or not you go to church synogogue, or nowhere at all on Sunday.
Look the subject up for yourself. Frankly it's not my job to be your wet nurse and spoonfeed you info. Illuminati-type groups do exist and they do participate in occult/metaphysical practices. And frankly I'll post whatever I want from wherever I want and you can't do a damned thing to stop me.
I stand by what I said. You don't have to agree and frankly I don't care about you at all what you think, feel or what happens to you one way or another. I've come to the conclusions I have based on my own reading on the subject matter and honestly all the condescension and mockery in the world won't change my mind on the subject.
So basically you're shit outta luck.

To dren. If you find that your views on lots of subjects are ridiculed it might possibly be because your beliefs are rediculous. I asked you reasonable and polite questions about your beliefs which if you are happy to post about here then you should be happy and enthusistic about answering. That supposes you have answers. No. Instead you went on a nasty and personal attack and with the lol emoticon when directly questioning my intelligence used the tactics that you accused me of. I'm not interested in getting into personal insults so we'll leave this now.
If anyone else reading this believes in illuminati. I'd love to hear your views in the questions I posed. [Edited 2/2/12 9:10am] If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

the illuminati does (or did) exist. what i wonder is if they are still active now and if so, what sort of power do they hold? i don't think they are secretly running the world, but the odds of them having a high powered old boys club like the masons is pretty good. and anytime you get a load of rich and powerful dudes together in one place, they can insight change if they really want to.

I agree with you that groups of powerful men will have interests that would benefit them and therefore use their power to influence politics. I see no reason to doubt that this happens. What I can't see is any compelling reason beyond just blind belief in the conspiracy theories put forward to conclude that there is a large organised and historically consistent secret order. I understand the theories but many people have decided that they are empirically true and state them as fact as if they have some personal direct and inside knowledge. As yet, I haven't seen any demonstrated. Perhaps I haven't looked hard enough? So I ask those that claim to "know" but instead of an answer they often go on the defensive, perhaps making claims that I am one of the sheeple, have a closed mind or am unintelligent. They think they question things. They don't. They merely pick an alternative ideology and then follow it blindly and uncritically. I think comparing them to the freemason's is a false comparison. The Mason's are not a secret society, secretive, yes but you can easily find the website and phone number for you local lodge and ask to join. There are many theories about what they do. As you can join the mason's it would be easy for motivated people who want to uncover what they are up to to join and over time penetrate the upper echelons before releasing a tell all book about what they do. Maybe that has happened? If not then I think it's safe to assume they do nothing particularly exciting. Back to the illuminati which in it's modern guise is merely a purported conspiracy theory according to the link you posted. If it's true, then perhaps there is a secret order but I think it would have to be a small elite group. Extending the circle to include a Minneapolitan pop artist would expand the amount of people involved exponentially making it, in my opinion, inplausible to keep it so secret for all these centuries. That was all I as asking. How would a conspiracy of that magnitude work? How do they recruit (when we can't find them) without risk of exposing themselves. I briefly checked the Wiki link and there's no reason to believe that such a movement exists today, or has existed for the last 3 centuries.
I'm sorry but I don't buy conspiracy theories without solid evidence, and for having studied 20th century History quite extensively, I don't think the geopolitical configuration of powers and political decisions of the last 100 years justifies such a belief.
I never mock religious or political beliefs, but yeah I tend to mock conspiracy theories, sorry if it's offending to anyone. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Well, I don't because both are often rooted in family or cultural tradition, and that denying even the most delirious religious or political beliefs would be like spitting on these people's whole culture or family or social group.
Conspirationists, on the other end, are usualy isolated individuals who are either extremely naive, or extremely insecure, and who are looking for some kind of superior knowledge to rationalize there fears or have a feeling of superiority over others. Before I didn't really care, but in this digital age the spreading of delirious information labeled a fact has become a habit on social networks, forums and blogs. I think that's a major issue and that it must be fought, because I see more and more "normal" people falling for the hoaxes, and that's not cool.
