Grabbing now as well. And thanks Rev for the cool "bonus" artwork. Great design as usual.

try that or anything else that converts flac to apple lossless. or convert to wav and then convert to apple lossless. if you get really stuck i think ipods play wav files

depends if you are using windows or osx, but just google "flac to apple lossless"

They do. But the file size will be huge. That being said, if you're listening on an iPod with earbuds, 320kbps mp3 should sound just fine in most environments.

Sharing these files as mp3s would be doing a great diservice to the fan community at large, so that's why it's left up to the individual to choose a favorite compression/conversion program for personal use.

On Mac I use XLD (it's free and regularly updated). On PC I use Free Audio Converter from dvdvideosoft. Both are intuitive for the novice and work flawlessly.

But save those Flacs, burn a disc and bump the big cones, too. smile

Free Audio Converter is cool I suppose, but for audio conversions, I prefer to use Switch Sound File Convertor from NCH Software, which is also free. That's another alternative for people. But as you said, when I convert FLACs to mp3s for putting them on my iPod, they sound just fine when I'm playing them back either in the car or wearing headphones. I always convert to 320kbps, as well.

Install Rockbox firmware on it. It's free and plays flac and ogg. And it comes with DOOM!

This is awesome quality compared to before. If there is a better studio bootleg released in 2012, we are in for an amazing year.

Thanks to all involved. cool

It'll still sound like crap on an iPod with stock firmware.

I hate megaupload.. Like ANYTHING uploaded there, that I try to download the connection ALWAYS breaks even tho I'm online.. Any suggestions? If I try to restart my download it says my IP is already downloading the file.. Same situation at work... or any of my other 2 computers.

Chuck the flac files into any audio converting software like dbpoweramp or Easy CD-DA Extractor, convert to format/bit-rate of your choice, enjoy!

Charade was 1 of the first boots I ever bought (thankfully now I don't ever buy boots, unless they're goin' on my feet!)...

back in 88, when I was still in school I got 2 tapes (yes cassettes!!) - the black album and charade...

these are first rate songs/outtakes - in pristine sound!! Other Here with Us still give me goosebumps...and Old Friends For Sale should never have been changed!!!

this is a must-have, up there with last year's Chocolate Box!

I have never had a problem with MU and I have been using it for down and uploads for an age.

Without a premier account, you will only be able to download a certain amount within a certain timeframe.

Try restarting your computer then downloading again, either that or you will have to wait a few hours/whatever before you can try again.

Yup. I think that "New Position" and "Under the Cherry Moon" are also the same as the released versions. Maybe there are subtle differences that I am missing?

if you use the latest version of nero you can drag and drop flac files and burn them direct to cd. with older versions you can install plugins. so no need to convert. or get a mp3 player that plays flac files like a cowan

try the megaupload download manager. make a free account too. that will resume downloads if you get d/c

jdownloader is also good and does and works with a number of different filesharing sites. it can also resume downloads if the site allows it. some don't allow resumable downloads on free accounts, only on paid accounts. megaupload is one of the best download services as they don't use captcha so you can automate your downloads without having an account

they are just the same. remember the first 3 songs/tracks were recorded in sequence with prince playing drums all the way through

i recall one of the vinly boots of charade had the left and right channels swapped on girls and boys so it sounded different if you listened on headphones to compare the two side back to back

the only negative thing about this is the people who still find things to comment on

with a release like this. "why isn't that song on there?" "why is this song on it when

i've already got it?"

blahblah

in fact, most of this sounds distinctly different from the parade album versions, if

only for the fact that it's a pre clair fisher cut. so the first three songs sound a bit

different. you can hear some of the other tracks on them a lot better without the

orchestral tracks. the vocals on "wendy's parade" are so darn cool.

love the way the steel drums come to the front as well. i've always loved them on

this album. they seem so out of place in regards to the whole vibe and vison for

both the album and the movie, yet they fit it like a glove. one of prince's weird and

wonderfull details.

and then the genuine outtakes. wow. these are great. eventho i've listened to both

versions of "old friends 4 sale" that i have at least 1000 times, i'm convinced that i

hear a few things here that i never heard before. yay.

love the segue into "all my dreams" (my fav outtake) which is also superior sounds

quality to any version i've heard before.

to have "others here with us", "old friends 4 sale" and "all my dreams" together in

this wonderful quality is awesome.

thank you very much to the people who made this happen! it's much appreciated.

who needs Crystal Ball part 2 if you can have stuff like this and Box Of Chocolates,

with tracks unaltered and unedited, just in fantastic quality. really, who needs prince

to release them anymore?

here's to hoping there's more to come in 2012. woot! woot! woot!

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

FlacFrontend is a free program that will convert to WAV. That is still lossless and can be converted to any format for any player.

If you can work your computer you can convert these files.
