Encouraging her to play the guitar even. She has a much more tomboyish look to her than any other of his women since Cat. There are people who believe that it was really Wendy and not Susannah that Prince was interested in. Who knows. She does seem to be groomed to be more a part of the band than anyone else in that Protege/ girlfriend role I can think of.

Agreed, I often thought this but those pictures confirmed it to me!

I think it'd be cool if she smiled more....but I guess the dourness is part of her 'look'.

Some of the comments (not necessarily yours) are outrageous...

The point of my "research project" was to show that she was a young girl trying to break into the business... getting hooked up (musically) with Prince has turned her into a pariah in a small segment of the population. I'm sure non-Prince fans have no clue who she is.

Prince is giving her a great exposure but with her personality and determination I think she would have reached her goal to

I discovered Andy Allo from 2elijah's thead. I wonder if Prince found out about Andy from 2elijah's thread. Andy has the full package and could be as famous as Idia Arie. With her determination, personality, and looks I think she would have reached her goal to sell 100,000 albums even if she hadn't hook up w/ Prince. He's given her great experience and exposure. If Andy's smart she won't allow Prince to turn her into the pariah or a Jehovah's Witness. In two of her old interviews Andy said she plans to shave her head. I don't think she'll do it while w/ Prince. Shelby is not the type of woman Prince would try to have people speculate if he's romantically dating so the fact that she wears a bald head doesn't count. Andy has the look of the type of woman he would be interested in romantically and I don't think Prince would want Andy to shave her head bald while she's out w/ him. If everyone in the NPG shaved their heads it would give people something new and out of the ordinary to discuss about his current band.

Too bad Prince didn't think to come up w/ the idea and tell his fans that he discovered Andy bcuz of a post 2elijah made on prince.org back on 8/20/10. Another member posted a photo of Andy on a thread about women Prince should date but I'm not sure if this thread was started before or after 2elijah's but Prince started working w/ Andy soon after she was mentioned here on this site. If 2elijah was the one who got them together it wouldn't be the first thing she's done to help Prince. I thought she worked for Prince the way she comes to his defense. She's also very helpful w/ Prince concert and traveling info. She's a very nice fan.

Now FreakerFantastic, how'd you come up with that comparison? They look nothing alike nor do they seem like they present the same mood or attitude, at least not what I've seen in photos and her in interviews, and she always seem to be smiling and seems to present a positive attitude.

Yes, I was surprised that she was a part of P's band only because I had seen her perform less than a year prior to her joining the NPG, on one of the Africa channel's music programs in 2010, which her special has been repeated on that channel, several times after she joined the NPG. I never heard of Andy Allo prior to that, so when the special came on, I liked her singing which reminded me of some artists like Billy Miles, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and Corinne Bailey When I posted the thread at that time, it didn't seem to garner much interest, but since she's become part of the NPG it seems orgers here have taken a vested interest in who she is now.

Once she joined the NPG, other orgers also discovered that Andy was doing commercials, modeling, collaborating wth other artists, and was a host on a cable show called 'G4'. She also sang on a movie score, and probably has done others, singng a cover of 'Curtis Mayfield's "Diamond in the Back....Gangsta Lean", which I happened upon while watching the handsome Benjamin Bratt in a movie on cable tv. When the credits rolled up at the end of the movie, I recognized that artist's voice singing that song, and to my surprise, it was her. Her name was listed on the movie credits as it rolle up as the artist sinnging the cover of that song. I believe that movie came out in 2006(?), Can't remember the name of it, but I did mention the name of the movie on a previous thread a few months ago. So there ya go folks, Andy Allo becoming a part of Prince's band had absolutely nothing to do with the thread I posted about her in the non-Prince music forum back in August 2010 on the Org.

Remember that Prince had his W2A 'Behind the scenes' special on the Africa Channel too, so maybe he met her through people who work for that channel, and may have seen a clip of her performance on there. That's OK, i actually like a good debate but I do get controversial at times mostly its good to challenge 'received wisdom' sometimes and because it stirs up discussion and makes the debate better!

It's a candid shot. It looks like she was caught off-guard as someone snapped her picture; it's not posed. That is just a brief moment in time; you cannot determine someone's personality from one split second...

I'm so glad I'm not in the public eye...

I'd hate to have someone rip apart every look, every move I make.

I think you're judgement of her look, is like judging a book by its cover without reading the contents of it. I see nothing wrong with that picture at all. She's walking into a Versace fashion show with a famous musician, so of course that will draw stares, attention and curiosity of who she is, as well as photographers snapping pics of the both of them walking in together holding hands.

Okay, I'm sure you mean well with your 'curiosity' about Andy or Prince, and I really don't mean to be rude when I say this, but I think you may be taking what I posted in this thread out of context and creating your own fantasies about it. By the way, Prince doesn't owe me any thanks for what I post here. Secondly, he is not affiliated with this site at all nor is he obligated to read anything posted here, as it's not an official Prince fan site owned by Prince; it's an 'unofficial' online fan community site, as stated on the heading of the site.
