Third Part of the Condorcet Poll: Best Prince Songs Never Released As Prince Songs On Albums Or Singles-Final Results

UPDATE: The poll is now closed. click here to see the results:

http://www.cs.cornell.edu...thm=runoff

Hi:

Yesterday I had to stop this poll because I forgot to include some of the nominations.

This time I've included all. If you voted yesterday, your vote won't count, so please vote again.

Remember: rank all the songs, including the 5 A-Sides, which are there only for reference purposes; leave the songs you don't know tied at the last place.

Many amazing songs in this third part!

Thanks!

The 5 A-Sides are there so that we can see the relative importance of the outtakes/associated artists' songs. For example, if some outtakes rank higher than When Doves Cry or Alphabet Street, we'll know that those outtakes are really loved by the fans, as the two A-Sides mentioned ranked very high in the A-Sides poll conducted some months ago.

stand back shouldn't really be on here.

All Prince did was add a keyboard part, Stevie was very generous in giving him a co writer credit.

Interesting point. Let's see how the poll turns out first, as it may or may not make any difference in terms of which songs go to the final round.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

WTF!?

Best Prince Songs Never Released As Prince Songs On Albums Or Singles

1. When Doves Cry

2. Alphabet St.

Do people even read what they put up for a poll and/or what they vote?

OK, a couple of issues here:

1. The A-sides are included as reference songs to help Javi make sure that the right number of songs are included in the fourth round of this poll. In fact he has explained this multiple times, including in this very thread.

2. Reporting of the preliminary results (which you just did) is expressly prohibited by the rules of these polls.

So, your question about what people read is quite valid.

Javi

So, the poll is over and we have ten more songs that make it into the final round:

- A Place In Heaven

- Rebirth Of The Flesh

- We Can Fuck/Funk (original versions)

- Wonderful Ass

- Screams Of Passion

- Purple Music

- When I Lay My Hands On You

- There's Others Here With Us

- The Sex Of It

- Train

Thanks everybody for taking part! And stay tuned for the poll with the 31 outtakes/associated artists' songs that have made it into the final round.

X. Alphabet St.

I read the title and saw the song names.

I thought: I do know these songs.

And remembered them as hits from sometime ago.

So I re-read the title, and thought again.

These peopel must be quite weird in their reasonings to allow top-40 hits in lists that assumably have songs that are somewhat unreleased.

So I posted here.

And then you republish the unaltered preliminary results, mention some weird reason to allow hits on the list and say I should not have done whatever?

All this leads me to conclude that the poll is considered more holy here than it's contents.

And thus the contents are rubbish.

And as such the results will be same.

The reason to include A-Sides has been posted in all the threads of the outtakes/associated artists' songs polls at least once. If you don't read the posts, you shouldn't make assumptions. However, you make them, and someone explains to you the mistake you have made. The least you could do is apologize; on the contrary, you continue vomiting.

If you don't understand something, you could just ask, like others have done. But this requires some education, I know.

Let me just make a point here if I may. I started this project and did the first few polls thinking that it might be fun to find out in a systematic way how Prince fans on the org rate his music. I gave up after a few polls because it was too much for me to handle. It takes time to put the poll together, monitor the thread, and close it when it needs to be closed. By my count there have now been 39 of these polls, the vast majority done by Javi. I think Javi needs to be thanked and congratulated for keeping this up. We're all doing this for free and just for fun, but Javi does 99% of the work. So, thanks Javi!

Assuming I read 'all' threads is not in sync with reality.

I don't assume. I read what I see.

And based on that , yes, the stuff looks weird.

And that is not a mistake.

Apologize for what?

I read one post, went to the URL, saw what I saw and read.

What is wrong there?

Of course you know it all and think taht choosing the wording you did will help me find the path.
