Y'all need to go to YouTube.

Type in the search window "What Do You Want From Me Lenny Bonus".

Play the first video on the list.

And crank up the volume.

Just heard this track. Gotta say, not diggin it! Lenny Kravitz just sounds like the same shit you've heard from him before but I guess he's trying to add more of an edge to his sound these days by incorporating more hiphop (?) elements. I don't know. I'm not trying to be mean but I just didn't find anything particularly amazing about this song. Honestly I'd have to say some of the stuff from 5 was better. "Live" probably has more funk in it, to me anyways. neutral

PurpleMusiq8 I agree. I listened to it and I think it's "just OK". I wasn't too knocked out by it.

I guess I'm still waiting on Lenny's "funk" CD...and speaking of Lenny..are him and P still cool with one another? They were joined at the hip it seemed back in the 90's and now you don't even see them together anymore.

"The Funk Bible" or whatever it was called... yeah, what ever happened to that?

I remember seeing that Lenny Live DVD back in the day. What ever happened to those songs they were jammin in rehearsals? That shit was funkay!

Haven't heard the new cd yet, but Lenny is a predictable with his music, and doesn't really go outside of his comfort zone musically. I respect and appreciate Lenny as musician/artist of course, and will be more than happy to take a listen to his new cd, but in comparison to Prince, Prince is much more diverse, creative, challenging, and unpredictable with his music.

Prince is so unlistenable these days. A very interesting guy, but musically so esoteric that it's downright irritating. He's like the Brett Farve of pop music.

And on the other hand is lenny who just made some of his best music ever.

The first song on lenny's latest, the title track, is far funkier than anything Prince has done since probably the Black Album, almost a quarter century ago. And every one of Lenny's records sounds great while prince's have devolved into piles of sterile digitized shit. Prince ruled the school until 1990. That's when lenny kravitz took over.

Black Sweat is a really funky song. That was 5-6 years ago. While I will admit I haven't heard new Lenny since Baptism other than the single he puts out at the time, Lenny's albums are like someone said very you know what you're going to get. Prince is Prince. He'll venture into this area and that and you never really know what it's gonna sound like next. Although I do agree with you that EVERY album since Musicology has had WAY too much production and reverb on it for my taste, there's always at least 1 gem lying hidden on his current albums. Black Sweat. Pure Funk.

I thought Black Sweat was really a good song, although the high pitched thing drives me insane. Just watched the video for the first time, that chick is crazy hot (who is that?). It's not like he hasn't done that song before though.
