I find the Pop Life sport interlude quite frustrating.

Joint 2 Joint where the funky beat part near the end only last a short while. best part of the whole song...

And than that annoying tap dance! pissed

I always want the jam at the end of Daisy Chain to stretch out a bit more, same for the middle of Rock & Roll Is Alive, especially that Boosy-like bass solo. I agree with UFO -- I can't stand those cheesy Vegas vamps that are dropped into so many tracks (studio and live versions). I think Play in the Sunshine was the first victim of this...

He has a lot of songs that are great and then he starts some goofy "spoken word" part and screws them up. I Hate U is a good example but there are many others.

I quite like those parts, especially the spoken parts on I Hate U extended...

1. Sun, Moon, & Stars - the bullshit rap with Jafakin' accent disbelief

2. I Don't Wanna Leave You - fades out just when the funk goes into overdrive

3. Old Friends 4 Sale (released) - he killed ALL of the emotion out of the song when he re-recorded it

4. Billy Jack Bitch - should released the entire 7+ minute version with the entire horns and guitar part on the end

5. The Word - should've used a real baritone saxophone; would've sounded better

6. The entire 20Ten album lol

7. Love 2 The 9s - Tony's rap was extremely unnecessary

8. Venus De Milo - should've been longer, such a BEAUTIFUL piece

9. Computer Blue - the released version was trimmed way too much

10. 1 + 1 +1 Is 3 - such crappy lyrics to such a funky ass song (even if it is Erotic City Pt. 2)

11. ANY time he puts "jazzy" interludes in a rock, funk, or pop track (live or studio)

12. My Name Is Prince - all of Tony M's "contributions"

13. I Rock, Therefore I Am - that dumbass rapper's, Scrappy Doo or whatever the fuck his name is, part

14. My Computer - um, where again is Kate Bush?

15. Endorphinemachine - the added cowbell and turning down the guitar level

And I'm sure there are waaaaaay more, but these were on the tip of my tongue. wink

Oh....you've all forgotten about The Continental being ruined by 'Tell Me How U Wanna B Done' and to add insult to injury it was released later on CB!!!

flip that for me! I think The Continental sounds like something Roxette would put out (that's bad). I love the rap at the end with Carmen's voice too.

The Way "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore" fades out too early.

"Guitar" fades a bit too early too, wanted that solo to go on longer.

Oh yes and how the released version of Musicology does not have the horn parts that he used in the live version...they are really cool.

'Annie Christian' seems to fade out early. If u listen closely, you can tell he was doing some weird sounds with those synths.
'Computer Blue' went from being a 14 minute song to being 4 minutes.
'I Don't Wanna Leave U' goes into another funky jam but fades right at the beginning.
'Vicki Waiting' ends way too soon.
All of Tony M's contributions to the D&P and prince albums

by far Love 2 the 9's - Tony M "rap" - ruins one of the best songs on that record.

the cork pop in POP LIFE

the piercing whine in "Black Sweat"

[Edited 8/19/11 8:22am]

All of the above...plus the build up just to let down at the end of "Pink Cashmere."

For me, that bit where it drops into an AWESOME new pulsating guitar groove at 4.04 in the released version of "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got" is so epic, but completely frustrating because the song almost immediately starts to fade out! GOD DAMMIT PRINCE! WHY DID YOU DO THAT?

I swear I was thinking the same thing! I listen to that song on my IPOD when I'm at the gym & I always say that to myself!

الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

As much as I love 'And God Created Woman' (One of my favorite songs of all time!) I admit that it turns off way too early, and the way it goes off seems kinds of misplaced..The harmony of Prince's choir...lol

On the couch is BEGGING for a sexy guitar solo that never comes. First time I heard that song, when it comes out of the brake, that build up "Don't cha make me, don't cha make me, don't cha make me..." I thought the next words out of his mouth was going to be "play this guitar." He said "testify" Black Sweat has that annoying drone note running through it. All that song needed was the vocals, bass and drums. He would have had another Kiss level hit on his hands. Less is more. Reminds me of TTD with Wishing Well and that damn xylophone.

1985, basically. lol He could have put together a killer album with a bit of psychadelia if he'd wanted, but ATWIAD was too big of a departure too soon of the heels of his work from 80-84.

Oh, and all the rapping, Prince's included, on Love 2 The 9's bored2 ruined what would have been another Prince classic.

The fact that Housequake doesn't have a funkys ynth break like "Lady Cab Driver" and "ATWIAD".

I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Here's another one I just thought of. He put too much shit on top of Jill Jones's "Baby U're A Trip"! His version was pretty bare bones, and it worked. On Jill's, he added horn embellishments and a nerve racking hi hat.

And in the same vein, I really would like to hear Prince's full version of "A Million Miles (I Love You)". That outtake is hella funky...even funkier or denser than Apollonia 6's version. But that may be because of the tape's generation than anything else, though.

I'm with you guys on the Pop Life sound effects break. Such a great song, interrupted by a random sound effect which so many people even today can't figure out what it is. And then he does it AGAIN on the fadeout!

^ I think he either should have removed the sound effect break or just forget about the ending and end with the sound effect break

I've read there exists a longer version of Ballad. That maybe a 12" acetate of this was made. Oh I guess I can dream. And that supposed extended 17 Days. Argghhh!!

The noise running through "Romance 1600" that sounds like either a hole-punch or a pogo-stick or something. The song is so great, but this renders it unlistenable.

not really frustrating but in the end of Dorothy P some kind of wah wah guitar comes in. I wish that could have lasted a bit longer.

Always hated the fact that Dorothy Parker faded out just as that funky wah guitar came in at the end... One of my favorite tracks... Such a friggin' tease.
