Wow....5/5 being absolutely perfect, not one bum note or borderline filler track....tough one...
...there aren't that many albums out there that achieve this sort of perfection, let alone Prince ones. But for me, the only one that is flying at 100% throughout is Purple Rain. Sounds obvious but it really is all killer, no filler...every track on it is spot on.
Lots of others come close though, 4.9, 4.8, etc...they just have the odd moment or two that doesnt quite work for me....still great though! [Edited 6/30/11 9:06am] www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site! | |

Dirty Mind,Controversy,1999,Sign O' the Times,and Emancipation*and Lotus/Mpls/Elixer. I consider these to be filler free and flawless. (Emancipation is not flawless and filler free but it was long time that I enjoyed majority of a Prince album. Sorry I should have clarified. 5/5 isd not 100% perfect and flawless, but any thing that can be rounded up from 9/10 or 90% and higher, so to me an album that gets 4.6/5 would be a five star album. Usually these albums will have only the most trivial imperfections, like a good song (Ie: Darling Nikki on Purple Rain) on a great albums.
