Best Prince and non-Prince show you've been to?

I'll piss a lot of people off, but I haven't been to as many as most, and still have yet to catch a club date or aftershow... sad So that said, my favorite Prince show (out of four attended) was 5/13/11 at the Forum.

My favorite show of all time? Such a tough call, seen so many, but the three nights (out of a five-night run) that I saw Dylan at the El Rey in 1997 was pure magic. Picking one, I would go with 12/19/97.

Notable Runner-Ups: Stevie Wonder at Universal Ampitheater with a full-orchestra (same tour documented in the amazing "Natural Wonder" disc), Gil Scott-Heron with Amnesia Express at the Blue Note in Manhattan (circa 1990), Joe Jackson Night & Day II tour.

Never been to a Prince show, being in NZ and all.

Other show, Elton John Band at the Vector Arena in Auckland May 4 2008, he played all his old hits and jumped and pranced around. He had his 70s band with him and they were amzing, by the end of the 4th song, every one was dancing. He was 61 and he gave a great show.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Prince, May 1998 in Columbus, Ohio. Doug E. fresh and Larry Graham were distractions, but the show was incredibly fun otherwise.

The other show would be Harry Connick, jr. with his funk band in either '97 or '98. Almost everything I've heard from him sucks, but that show was outstanding.

Runner-up would be Tom Waits in 2008.

My first P show back in 1982 at the San Francisco Civic and the Musicology tour. I was luck enough to see the Time original members and nothing compares to that.

That was the Controversy tour so P was playing the Do Me Baby, Head type music. I saw the Time as well and got to hear them. It was many years ago so I can't remember all of the specifics now.

Best Prince show: Musicology - Awesome show, 2nd row and took my son, who was given a tambourine by Candy Dulfer.

Best other show: Kid Rock - Ford Field for his 40th Birthday party. Guests included Martina Mcbride, Rev Run (Run DMC), Uncle Kracker, Sheryl Crow and the lead singer from J Geils Band.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
