I haven't been to a concert since the Lovesexy tour, but, off the top of my head, I'm guessing that these would be especially problematic:

"Sister"

"Jack U Off"

"Let's Pretend We're Married"

"Erotic City"

"Darling Nikki"

"It"

"Bob George"

"Superfunkycalifragisexy"

"Rockhard in a Funky Place"

"Tick, Tick, Bang"

"Sexy M.F.

"Come"

"Orgasm"

"P Control"

I'm sure there are plenty others.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

probably about 50% of dirty mind, controversy and 1999, and a few on the remaining 80s and early 90s albums

It doesn't seem that cut and dry. He still does Little Red Corvette, and sings about "doing it in the kitchen, on the table top." I would be interested in following this thread and seeing specifically a list of songs not played since 2001.

Why can't he do them anymore? Are you referring to his inability or the sexual content? If the ladder, why shouldn't he? eek

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Folks, he's played songs with cursing an sexual themes plenty of times.

He just replaces the words or omits them, and rearranges the songs.

He's always rearranged songs live--this time, he just has one extra reason to do so.

he has been teasing nasty girl and darling nikki in his sampler set .. i don't think he censors himself due to some spirtual bs .. i think its more so people can bring their kids to his shows .. he's not playing to the horny youth anymore .. they don't really come to the shows .. its horny older people now but also families with kids .. thats who goes to prince shows now .. and if he loses that audience due to singing about explicit sex while kids are there he's not gonna sell enuf tickets ... maybe thats why gold tour bombed so bad .. it was mf this and mf that .. people dig erotic prince but no so much foul mouthed prince .. well not everyone anyway

Middle aged Prince would've probably not do the songs and if he does, he does snippets of it or takes the cursive words out. Younger Prince wouldn't have given a shit lol

You all forgot "Cloreen Baconskin" which starts with "One of those nice breezy motherfuckers".

Hopefully one day, Prince will come out of his enforced purgatory and preform all these aural nasties again.

All of Dirty Mind except Gotta Broken Heart again (The others are too explicit, contain unjehovahed themes - are you gay, even mentioning the word is a sin in their cult)

Most of Controversy except Ronnie, Annie Christian

Most of 1999 but especially International Lover and Lets Pretend we're married. Maybe Free may past muster.

Some of Purple Rain

Parade and parts of sign are okay

Lovesexy would be acceptable

Virtually all of 1991 -1998 would be banned due to his obsession with being a gangsta and his favourite word was Motherfucker at the time.

1999 - onwards would be okay.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

When I saw him at MSG in December, he played Uptown.

My mind was blown. It was so good.

He's played "When You Were Mine" quite a few times since his JW turn. Quite a few on ONA tour if I believe and at the final O2 Show in 2007 smile

Great, he is lightening up finally, in a way "Uptown" was the song that defined, not only was it great song, the message was meaningful, its about being true to yourself and not giving a damn.

Best part: During the intro: "How many of y'all know about the Dirty Mind? How many of y'all know about the DIRTY MIND?!?!"

Everyone goes crazy and then Prince goes:

"Ahh just like a bunch of teenagers!"

But to taint the purity of such lines as "work your body like a whore" is a crime against poetry!

yeah, because that's the only thing about that song which makes it unsuitable for his live shows....

a list of good songs he COULD play but doesnt would be more interesting, i.e.

computer blue

new position

life could be so nice

play in the sunshine

the cross

ballad of dorothy parker

lovesexy

i wish u heaven

the future

electric chair

elephants & flowers

thieves in the temple

still would stand all time

rave un2 the joy fantastic

thunder

the sacrifice of victor/emancipation

the morning papers

papa

gold

letitgo

count the days (with a few lyric changes)

anything on musicology except musicology

fury

love

the word

the dance

te amo corazon

there are obviously a whole lot more if you include stuff played only on the ona tours

Yeah, where the heck is Computer Blue? He could still rock the mask without getting too naughty. At least work in the solo.
