Their lips are totally different. The eye shape is in no way similar. So apparent they are not from the same genealogical tree.

Like comparing two species of beautiful butterflies. From a distance the two can look the same, up close one can plainly see the difference.

So in reality they never looked alike. If you look at both of their pictures from the beginning of each career, from the pre-plastic surgery days up to today, there is little or no similarity. I'd post the pix but my 'puter system needs updating.

The RN days were when Janet was light skinned. She suddenly became mocha during the janet. era and has been brownish ever since .

The thing about that pic of Janet from the Rhythm Nation era and Prince from the Graffiti Bridge era is that they were taken around the same time, so the argument can be made that that was just the style of the day. Granted Rhythm Nation came out in '89, the single from which that Janet picture comes from was taken 1990 (the song was called "Escapade), the same year as Graffiti Bridge (movie) was released. Prince rocked a similar doo to what Nona Gaye was rocking in the early mid 90's, so was it Prince trying to look like Nona (or Janet) or vice reversa*?

Michael Jackson had a similar hair style but I doubt neither were trying to copy each other. I don't get that rhetoric of "copying" hair styles. Just because one rock it don't mean it was their original idea.

Those Janet RN/Prince GB pics (which I originally posted in a previous Janet/Prince thread) show J and P with their best-ever hairstyles I think. That Janet picture isn't from the the "Escapade" single, it's from the RN tourbook (I got it from a Janet HQ photo site).
