If...the person we ironically, just so happen to be talking about had not WON an Oscar for the ROLE she portrayed in "Monster's Ball". I could quite possibly agree with your point.

Unfortunately, I think Halle's role sucked as did her performance and her getting an Oscar for it...as well as Denzel getting an Oscar for his role and performance in "Training Day" that same year...were insults! hmph!

Be that as it is...I do think Halle's role in "Frankie and Alice" is a good one and from what I've seen so far...I think she does well with it, performance wise. However, I'll actually need to see the movie BEFORE I can even begin to fathom any Oscar worthiness.

I just found the ability of others to suddenly flat out determine her Oscar worthiness without having seen the actual movie...rather interesting. hmmm

lol Hi Hatrina, wave Not everyone will agree, view things the same way or follow what everyone else thinks. It's okay that you don't agree with my point of view on this, as well as others who stated the same, that Halle's performance in the film may/is "oscar-worthy". However, I've seen a few snippets of the film, besides the ones posted here, and in my "individual" opinion, I can see the way Halle is playing this role as "oscar-worthy". When I saw the coming attractions of Monique in the film she won an oscar for last year, before I actually saw the movie, I felt and thought the same thing about her character's role. But it's cool, it's all good, and I respect your opininon, even if you don't agree with some of us on here about it. hug

"Frankie and Alice" was released for the past Oscar season. Halle didn't get an Oscar nomination. She received a Golden Globe nomination, however.

I know he did. But got an Oscar nomination first. All the people in my example actually won an Oscar.

You know, I always wished that these two would have gotten together. I missed the awards show, but it was a nice surprise to see them side by side in the pics. Halle is one of the most beautiful ladies in Hollywood and seems to have a good heart as well. wink

lol Thanks Shawn, but I never said she won an Oscar. I specifically said from what I've "personally" seen in some of the clips, in my own opinion, it looks like an "oscar-worthy" performance by Halle, so no worries.biggrin

I'm confused. The clip I saw doesn't show him doing either of these gestures. I don't know if they happened while the camera was panning the crowd or if they were edited out of the later broadcast. Maybe the guy who was there or someone who saw the live broadcast might know and what was he trying to hear better? His expression on that one is hilarious, he's such a clown sometimes.

Just wondering if you saw the show on Fox or found a clip online...?

There's a clip, but after looking through all the pictures again, I think he was doing that while they were cheering for him, but I don't know if it was edited out or just off camera.

Just found one, but it doesn't show the entire piece. I'll keep looking...

There was some footage that was cut out of the actual broadcast. Especially after Halle finished talking. They were walking away grabbing and talking to each other that wasn't shown in the actual braodcast..

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
