sarcasm people...get with the program, although not without a hint of truth. Not all mind you, but a lot of women really do like the bad boys more than the good guys. "Search your thoughts Luke, you know this be true"

So u have no problem with a woman bustin out from behind a building making a public spectable of herself yelling about her man not showin up in the middle of the street in broad daylight?

I never had a problem with that scene, per se, except for that girl's terrible acting. At one point when she's yelling at Morris she is obviously on the verge of laughing...

I'm Catholic and my family used to receive a Catholic newspaper every month, and each issue would contain the list of recent banned movies (movies condemned by the Pope and which faithful Catholics were told not to view) by the Church and the reason why they were banned.

"Purple Rain" was on the banned list, and it was due to that trash can scene because it was considered degrading to women.

I remember seeing it listed in the newsletter and being surprised that THAT scene caused the movie to be banned. I was only a teenager, but in my mind there were scenes a lot more "naughty" or "bad" than that one that I thought would've gotten it banned. To me the trashcan scene was just silly. I could definitely see the point about degrading women, but still...

ROFL!!! THAT'S some sad, cold, IGNANT shit! evillol

star

I never tripped on that scene until I got older. When I was young I laughed like everyone else. But when I see the film now, the blatant disrespect is kinda hard to swallow. I could see if it was a character we all hated, then it might be justified. But this was just some random woman - why is it "funny" to literally discard of this woman (translation - ANY woman) like that? Bad enough Kid's mom is getting her ass beat all the time & Apples gets the shit smacked out of her more than once - notice how he pushes her to the ground by gripping her face omfg Definitely some questionable shit happenening there...

FUCK PURPLE RAIN!!! mad
