Damn, just when I thought I was out of the purple sphere of influence, my electricity goes out last night and for half a day today... So, I put on my Ipod and listened to the Izod concert from Dec. 17th and relived the excitement of that performance. Then, I just had to put on the 12 Inch CD collection of Prince's 12 inch singles. What a terrific collection! Makes me want a turntable again. Chock full of extended versions of America, Little Red Corvette, Erotic City, Sexy Dancer, Pop Life, Mountains (yes!), Shockadelica, Partyman, Housequake, and more! Excellent collection! Who loves this four CD collection as much as I do and what are your favorites from it?

I love most of Prince's 12 inch versions.

Not sure what your 4 disc version is, but this 6 disc version is essential stuff.

Sadly, I don't have this collection...

but, Prince invented the remix and they are great songs.

Love the I Wish U Heaven (Parts 1, 2 & 3) extension.

There's a 6 disc version?! The one I have are 4 discs, remastered, from Ladybird Records and they are excellent! Sure would like to hear the other two discs missing from my collection!

I agree, a lot of people don't like the extended versions, i love them, the ones from Parade and SOTT are fantastic.

It's one of the better collections of 12" singles out there

There were several Prince 12" mix physical CD boots that I bought back in the pre-high speed internet days:

12 Inch Singles Collection (Cedrem)- Came in a 12" x 12" gold aluminum tin with a large booklet. The CDs were also made with an actual gold substrate.

12 Inches 2 A Yard (Label?)- Horribly packaged, but decent quality rips at the time.

Extended Member Of The Royal Household (Mad) - Nice art and sound.

Shockadelica (SSCD) - Badly done all the way around. Pressed CD, photocopied art. The guy sent a note saying that his house was raided for pirating music and they took the majority of his boots.

But T's 12" Archive is the one to get for extended versions - and it's free. Also get 7-Inch In The Computer (Digital Funk Bitch) and both volumes of The Virtual US 7-Inch Singles (Fun With Vinyl) to round out your collection of vinyl-only.

Of course you already better own Ultimate and The Hits/B-Sides. Prince should make some kind of money from his legacy works.

I like this one better than T's. T's is missing way too many songs. I know he put it together just to get songs on CD that were never on CD but that leaves out a lot of great mixes.

Indeed, there are a few gaps in T's collection, but that is the only fault i can find with it.
