I don't think I can pick a best, too many to choose from, but it would definitely be pre 1997.

Best for me was ONA in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre. Front row, centre tickets! Nothing will ever surpass that.

Second best, The Heavy, free outdoor show at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2009, they have become one of my favorite musical group.

Third I'll give to Prince for the Musicology show, I think I enjoyed it less then others did because my seats sucked, even though they were supposed to be prime NPGMC seats. I had a very obstructed view.

TTD Vibrator tour is my favourite ever. Saw it in Vienna.

The next best thing would be some of the many Prince concerts I saw, Beck was awesome too.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I think every performer brings something different to the table. Prince bases his shows (at least the 2 that I saw) on music and how he performs the songs themselves. Lady Gaga puts on a show. It's like going to see a music theatre production, and she puts her whole into it - you can tell. Marilyn Manson is a combination of show and music, and seriously had to be one of the best performances that I've ever seen at a tiny Jersey club. Slipknot, well it was something else. I'm not a big fan but my friends took me for my pre-Sweet 16 party week kick-off, it was based on singing only and wasn't as good as Prince does it.

nod

Went with my cousin who met him in a London pub. He blew her a kiss from onstage and she ended up in his hotel suite. I wasn't a big fan but it was a small venue (about 800 maybe) his live voice was unreal and the band rocked.

Prince.....every show was awesome, different experiences, and so far every show has a "story" behind it that makes the experience so much more fun and/or memorable. The cloesst I've been was at the Herning show in Denmark, Oct. 2010, so that stood out for sure for a few different reasons! Prince will always top the list no matter who else I see live or how good the show is..no one can touch him, no one! He's #1 always!!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

seems like the one nite alone tour is a big favourite here....it beats his lovesexy concert for me in 1988 at wembley arena....i think the ona tour was the best for long time prince followers as it was purely based on the music and he played stuff from all various parts of his back catalogue and some great covers.....it was something that i hope he does again but i doubt it...

the 95 gold experience era shows were fantastic too musically, no hits, just tons of funky new music, both in the main show and the aftershows. prior to all of that, aftershows were a rarer thing and it was harder to get close to the front at the mainshows, so generally less intimate shows

in saying that, in the last few years, with the musicology tour and the european shows he's still been playing gigs in large venues, and even the o2 meant you couldn't get that close, even if you were front row next to the symbol stage, but at least you had all the aftershows at the indigo2 for the intimate gigs

I saw him in 1993 at the Symphonic Damnation World Tour in Paris. I quite enjoyed the show. Always loved TTD. It's a shame the arena was half empty. It really didn't help the show though.

I remember the Hippodrome show was one hell of a night for allsorts of reasons.

it was a particularly good show, and prince stagediving on me, getting the tamborine and then seeing prince leave when we were on our way home was cool. and the next day when he turned up at cafe de paris, i was there waiting on him like a stalker. in fact i remember someone mailed me a photo of prince entering cafe de paris with me in shot, and then the next day brixton academy, so 4 gigs in 3 days, an arena, a club aftershow, a tv gig in a club and then a theatre show, that was one of my best prince times

I was placed all night shall we say. right in front of the keyboard. Do you remember the arguement unique ith the sound guys and Prince thumping the speaker and staring them down. He sacked everyone of them after the hippodrome gig. I though he was going to leave then that happened.

there was no soundcheck at all, the soundcheck was the first jam when the band were playing. i remember feedback a few times, and prince shouted at the soundguy a few times and i think even mentioned "someones going to get fired" or similar during the show. i've been at a few shows where i've heard people were fired, like the last nite at one celly where there was supposed to be a big jam session with all the guests, but the main PA from paisley was in st paul and the other PA they had was crap and the power kept cutting out. i think nikka costa was playing that night. i think this was the second celly

Best main shows i've seen:

ONA FRANKFURT 2002

21/09 LONDON (Final night)

Best aftershows:

BERLIN 1994

ONA Rotterdam 2002

If not Prince than the best concer i've ever witnessed just has to be DAVID BOWIE (Heathen Tour 2002)
