I don't know that I would describe it as stupid and pointless, man. I think that I understand the poorly-worded intent and that was to find out, specifically, what differences there were. I know that if -I- were to make a thread about the sound quality, I would be aiming for someone to say, "Compare tracks X and Y, those have noticeable differences." Perhaps not this OP, but regardless, he didn't really do anything to deserve being called deaf and dumb. I think that steps over the line of acceptable and turns into a, "The fuck is wrong with this guy?"

I'm not SAYING you aren't a fan, I just recall you describing yourself as being not much of a fan at the moment. That being said, why bother putting YOURSELF through the seemingly insufferable stress the org provides you? If its not that deep, then what's with the severe response?

I get your point about quality threads on the Org. I'm aware this topic, even, has been discussed TO DEATH and all threads typically involve you and unique shit talking lib, some of the boot labels, and other stuff. Sometimes Neversin or Boris pop in to either reprimand or correct people. That's wonderful. But there really is only SO much to discuss at the moment and I think this subject may be one that has room for more discussion.

For instance, why DON'T people in this thread (or the others, from my memory) say, "Tracks X, Y, and Z are noticeably different!" just as examples? That's helpful. That opens up room for discussion.

It doesn't -always- need to devolve into some sort of discussion about how awful and reprehensible someone is for ever even remotely DREAMING about having thoughts such as these in the original post.

But it's really a full load of tracks that are MUCH better on Work It 2.0 Updated than on The Work (be it 'enhanced' or not).

Prince's lastest 'efforts' have turned me into one of them 'haterz on the innernet' he often bashes.

He should be grateful for all those studio tracks being out there: they are what kept the fire burning for me for the last 10 years. Bootleggers have (indirectly) done for him what he wasn't able to do for himself.

Not even after Batman/GB or during his horrible period in the mid to late 90s had I jumped off the purple boat. But hadn't it been for the unreleased studio stuff I enjoyed in the last 10 or 12 years I'd be swimming away from it like crazy. I've overtly disliked virtually every song and virtually every live boot we got since TRC and the ONA tour.

Prince (not the internet) is dead for me now. I can't even imagine myself enjoying his future output neither on wax or live. But no one can take away from me all the astounding music and concerts he made since he started until when he definitely lost it in recent years.

It's plain to see that the 1996-2000 era had brought to us some of his worst albums and tours.

Now all of these seem like a gem compared to what he's been doing since 2003-2004.

I thought the reason Work It was considered better was because a) it had been 'tweaked' somewhat, and b) it supersedes The Work because it's newer (although they're both old by now).

The Work (or the first 5 vols) was also right at the tale-end of the golden age of pressed bootleg sets with lush artwork and booklets etc, and Work It was a download only set (AFAIK).

if you are going to listen to mp3s, surely you would prefer ones taken from decent sources that aren't fucked about with to sound worse? and really, a flac bootleg is only maybe 4x bigger in size so hardly takes that much longer to download. you don't need to sit at the computer watching it downloading

absolutely! I'm happy enough with mp3's of a decent release. These normally end up on g101, among all the other stuff, which can be ignored.

Might be hard to believe in this day and age but I literally don't have the bandwidth
