All I hope is that I get ballads as great as Call My Name, Future Baby Mama, and Mr. Goodnight, dance songs as Funky and as good as Musicology!! I'd be happy. biggrin

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

If Prince doesnt release another tribute to his 80s output, I will be happy. But if I could ask, I would like something like Lotus Flow3r with more jazz elements. Live band, of course.

No ballads, no "look at me, I'm hip because of auto-turd on my voice" songs, no "this is so much funky (it isn't)" kind of songs.

Just bring the power trio and record instrumental album. Rockin' album. No lyrics (they would be average, so why include them?).

That's what I want.

I would like something wild, completely different from what he's been recording in the, let's say past 10 years. Something unpredictable what would make me omg from beginning to end. Something that I can't even describe in words and Prince can turn it into music.

And as someone here said, a common availability would be nice as well...

Well there's nothing wrong with 'fantasizing' about what could be, is there? batting eyes

All we can do is drop expectations and patiently wait .. fortunately, we're all pretty good at that lol

The joys of being a Prince fan!

I think they're so cute! giggle

Cutey littley puppies playing Princey! They wait 'til their parents are off to work and then they put on a pink dress, their mother's high heels, some red lipstick, tons of mascara and eye-shadow, take their daddy's hair out of the shower sink and glue it to their chests, turn on the fog machine and be all mysterious 'n shit.

Yeah.. let's get another FUNK with pop/rock/soul:

another "Gold Experience" masterpiece album part II.

That's what I dream about.

(Let's not expect a Purple Rain- / Sign O' The Times part II, that would be too much).

An album of all Minnesota Vikings fight songs.

It could be called the Purple & Gold Rain Experience.

really weird funky but imaginative, alien sounding, crazy, ill, carefully mixed and produced tracks. NONCOMMERCIAL. Like mutated, mad mood, funk pop.

No jazz musicianship.

Check out Dam-funk. He's brilliant.

As for Prince. I guess he's always pushing himself. I can never say his albums sound like anything I've heard before.

I know he has released 20Ten just over half a year ago (I really enjoyed that one) and we're quite spoiled with the quantity of Prince' output, but there's nothing wrong with talking about what we'd want his next album to sound like to wet our appetites and to learn about the expectations of his fan-base on here.

Personally, I did like 20Ten as a fun little summer album and there's some nice work on there, but it's just not challenging and deep enough, musically and lyrically. I also liked the mellow jazz release of In A Large Room With No Light, but I want something harder, more pumping and more mysterious from Prince.

I'd love him to rediscover a bit of the rockier Lotusflow3r sound, but with some freakier chord progressions and arrangements. Lotusflow3r was interesting sound-wise, but most songs on there were quite blunt and superficial musically (although I love that album).

I want him to experminet with a modern, powerful, commercial indie-rock sound, but mix it with challenging rock/psychedelic/fusion sounds and good lyrics. Something like "Boom, From The Lotus, Dreamer, Crimson And Clover, Colonized Mind" from Lotusflow3r, The Undertaker, parts of Chaos And Disorder, The Rainbow Children and a brand new, clean, but still mysterious indie-rock sound all mixed together.

I want to feel that he spent loads of time and thought on his music and that he respects it. Oh, and I think it would be cool if it were another major label release with some proper promotion, just for the sake of him talking about his new music and playing it live.

What do you want?

Well said, I agree with you.

We are all so full of doody here

I would stick him in a smaaaaaaal room with an 8 track(if he wants more, that nigga knows how to bounce) and not let him out till he comes out with an album thats longer than 60 min's. He needs some containment, challenges. Freedom is cool and all but sometimes people need guidance and support, not followers.

not saying i want another Dirty Mind. Just saying he needs to contain himself. The cost of freedom is anything but free.

I think not long after his break from WB he reliazed this himself. I don't think he's an actual JW...I think he just fakes the funk in order to give his life structure and purpose. When he was with WB, he had a "to do" list everyday he woke up. Being the work-aholic he is, I think he missed that after a period of time.

He ain't gotta "go to work" anymore. Not that he ever viewd his gift as going to work.

nevermind all of this...i'm just crazy.

all of that said...he needs to stop drawing unemployment checks(the one off crappy compolation albums he's been making) and "get back to work." He ain't been working a lot lately. get in there...get sweaty...get your hands dirty and work nigga...it don't make u a slave.

Even better, one that I can just find a buy without joining a damned music club with a crappy web site that never delivers on its promises. How hard is it to hire some college kids to set up a Bigcartel store?
