Girl 6....? Bvarrdd doncha think Girl 6 soundtrack just STINK???

I love it, i just wish that it had all the songs from the movie  it was a great mix of Prince songs. Plus if it wernt for Girl 6 I would have never heard songs like dont talk to strangers and screams of passion, 2 great songs. If i can get a track listing from the movie, i think it would be great to put together the entire soundtrack. now that would be great listening. | |

It was a plus for me when it came out since prior to its release, "Screams of Passion" and "Nasty Girl" were extremely difficult to come by on CD. i didn't mind it.seems like the volumes were upped a bit on the old songs too (remastered?)
It did seem dumb to mention 'sometimes it snows' in the liner notes and not include it. |

It would have been cool if it were a 2-CD set,or two separate volumes so that ALL the tunes in the film could have been included.Also,why didn't they include the long 12" version of "Erotic City",that would have been a nice bonus,since it's so rare. | |

I just got this one. I think as an album on its own merits its actually pretty good. The song Girl 6 is shite, but the rest of it is classic prince tunes. It was the first time I heard nasty girl, a song that i like, and also dont talk to strangers which is a really great tune (although Chaka's live version from Cafe de Paris way surpasses it).
I agree that it was good simply to have louder versions of old songs, particularly The Cross. Every time i make a compilation you can barely hear the intro to that song compared to other tracks. It just proves that prince re-masters are a must. Never saw the film, heard it wasnt too good though. | |

Yeah, She Spoke 2 Me is great. But only the version on The Vault. The Girl 6 version is just pretty good, it leaves out the best part. | |

I loved it and the way the songs were used in the movied really worked for me That said, I never ever listen to the soundtrack. The title song "Girl 6" is dreadful.
